Waterproof Sealant for Container Houses

Admin September 17, 2026

Common types of waterproof sealants for container houses include butyl sealants, neoprene sealants, MS sealants, as well as sealants made of materials such as silicone rubber and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), which can be selected according to different needs.

Butyl Sealant: Made primarily of butyl rubber and polyisobutylene rubber, it has a texture similar to plasticine and remains soft at all times. It has strong adhesion and can firmly bond to various materials such as metal, glass, and concrete. Its temperature resistance is excellent, functioning normally within a temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius to 120 degrees Celsius, and it can withstand 20 years of exposure to wind and sun without cracking. This makes it particularly suitable for container houses placed outdoors for long periods, effectively preventing rainwater leakage. It comes in various forms, including single-sided aluminum foil butyl tape and white butyl tape for waterproof sealing of sunboard houses, meeting the sealing needs of different parts.

Neoprene Sealant: Known as the "band-aid" for containers, it focuses on rapid repair. Taking models like Jitai 123 as examples, it can quickly stop leaks once extruded, making it very suitable for situations where leakage problems need to be resolved urgently. Some neoprene sealants also have the function of paint coverage, maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the container after repair, suitable for occasions where the appearance of the repaired part is important.

MS Sealant: It has good elasticity and can stretch up to four times like a spring. During the use of container houses, it is inevitable that there will be shaking due to various factors, causing changes in gaps. The characteristic of MS sealant makes it suitable for dynamic gaps, effectively preventing seal failure caused by container shaking.

Sealants made of materials such as silicone rubber, EPDM, polytetrafluoroethylene, and conductive rubber: They come in a rich variety of types, including rubber strips, rubber products, sealants, and waterproof rubber strips. The manufacturing processes include calendering and molding. Brands include Ruisheng, Juli, and Fengze. Shapes include herringbone, irregular, and long strip shapes. For example, EPDM rubber seal strips have strong sealing properties and can be used for waterproof sealing of container houses; neutral silicone sealants have weather resistance and waterproof characteristics and are also suitable for container sealing.
