Want Money? Visit This Container Building!
Today we bring you a project related to money—if you want cash, you can go inside. It is a rural bank in South Africa.
The project is located in Johannesburg and was designed and built by A4AC. The building is made of shipping-container modules that serve as ATMs, bank teller windows, and offices for opening accounts or applying for loans.
Each module is prefabricated in a factory and transported to the site for assembly. After installation, the entire structure is covered with a corrugated roof. Installation takes only a few weeks, and the whole bank can be completed in just 3 months.
Thanks to the modularity and mobility of shipping containers, the design can also respond quickly to local needs to some extent.
