Victory Mobile Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

The mobile 'smart eco-friendly public toilet' project promoted by the Gongnong Community in Shengli Street aims to address the issue of public toilets in the community and enhance the convenience of residents' lives.

Project Background and Implementation Necessity

The Gongnong area of Gongnong Community encompasses 67 residential buildings and 2,780 permanent residents. With the rising proportion of elderly people, problems such as insufficient public toilets and outdated facilities have become increasingly prominent. For example, the existing public toilets cannot meet the needs of residents with mobility issues, and inadequate nighttime lighting poses safety hazards. To improve this situation, the Chengguan Bureau of Shashi District, Shengli Sub-district Office, and Gongnong Community jointly promoted a public toilet renovation project, planning to add a mobile 'smart eco-friendly public toilet' at Shuiping Square and renovate a convenience public toilet.

Resident Participation and Consultation Mechanism

During the project implementation, the community party committee ensured that residents' opinions were fully heard through multi-party consultations. For example, it organized a tripartite consultation meeting involving the property management company, homeowners' committee, and resident representatives to introduce the project background and significance and discuss residents' demands such as adding barrier-free facilities and enhancing nighttime lighting, ultimately reaching a consensus. Additionally, the community decided whether to add a public toilet at the activity square in the Gongnong area through a homeowners' assembly vote and used mobile ballot boxes to solicit opinions from elderly and residents with mobility issues, ensuring democratic decision-making.

Technical Characteristics and Application Scenarios of Mobile Toilets

Mobile toilets (Portable toilet) are portable toilet facilities suitable for fixed or temporary needs, commonly found in stations, docks, tourist attractions, large construction sites, etc. Their core structures include fecal sewage storage tanks, sanitary ware, walls, roofs, and mobile devices. They can be classified into single-unit and connected types based on structural form; towed and vehicle-mounted types based on mobility; and direct-discharge, packaged, and microbial degradation types based on sewage treatment methods. Their advantages lie in strong mobility, easy installation, and flexible combination, effectively addressing toilet challenges in densely populated areas or temporary events.

Project Effectiveness and Resident Feedback

In mid-March this year, the construction of public toilets in the Shuiping area was successfully completed, resolving the toilet problems that had troubled residents for over a decade. The newly added mobile 'smart eco-friendly public toilet' is not only equipped with barrier-free facilities but also optimized nighttime lighting, significantly enhancing residents' usage experience. Through democratic consultation and scientific planning, the project achieved efficient utilization of public resources and provided a replicable renovation model for similar communities.
