Triangular Prefabricated House

Admin September 19, 2026

Triangular prefabricated houses are a type of housing built with a triangular structure as the core through prefabrication methods. They are characterized by strong stability and convenient construction. Common types include prefabricated wooden houses, modular triangular houses, and specially shaped triangular residences.

Prefabricated Concrete Triangular Roof Trusses

According to the "Code for Calculation of Quantities in Building Construction and Decoration Engineering" (GB 50854 - 2013), prefabricated concrete triangular roof trusses should be listed under the project code for broken-line roof trusses. These trusses are mostly used in traditional concrete buildings, where factory-prefabricated components enhance construction efficiency, but they need to be designed in conjunction with the overall building structure.

Prefabricated Triangular Wooden Houses

With triangular wooden houses as the core product, a factory-based assembly line production model is adopted. In terms of design principles, the stability of the triangle is utilized, with a steep roof pitch facilitating drainage and snow sliding. The interior space narrows upwards, creating a visual hierarchy. The manufacturing process includes design drafting, material preparation (such as preservative-treated wood and glulam), component processing (including CNC cutting and pre-assembled modules), and quality inspection and packaging. During installation, the on-site workload is minimal. After preparing the foundation, wall panels and roof trusses are hoisted, and waterproofing, doors, windows, and electrical wiring are completed. Bolt or clip connections facilitate easy disassembly and relocation. In terms of performance, rock wool or polyurethane foam is filled in the walls for thermal insulation, structural calculations ensure wind resistance, and wood surface treatments extend durability. These houses have a wide range of applications, including park visitor information points, camping accommodation units, and ecological reserve observation stations, and support customization of appearance and dimensions.

Modular Prefabricated Triangular Houses

These houses are delivered as a whole and can be easily assembled on-site for immediate use, suitable for various scenarios such as scenic spots and farms. Through standardized design, these houses reduce on-site construction steps, shorten the construction period, while maintaining the stability advantage of the triangular structure.

Specially Shaped Triangular Residences

These are divided into two categories: planar triangles (such as a street-facing residence in Gwangju, South Korea) and three-dimensional triangles (such as a pyramid-shaped residence in Pennsylvania, USA). The structural advantages lie in the ability of the sloped surfaces to disperse wind and snow pressure, enhancing disaster resistance. The living characteristics include optimized lighting (with windows dispersed to avoid lighting dead zones) and innovative space utilization (such as floating stairs to resolve sharp corners). However, there are construction issues, such as higher costs due to customized building materials, and some residents report that sharp-angled spaces can cause "geometric anxiety."
