Transportation of Prefabricated House Components

Admin September 18, 2026

Transporting prefabricated house components typically involves dividing the building into modules, manufacturing them in a factory, and then assembling them on-site. Here is a detailed introduction to the transportation of prefabricated house components:

Transportation Modes

The transportation mode for prefabricated house components is unique, breaking away from traditional construction material transportation methods. Taking modular buildings as an example, the building is divided into individual modules. These modules undergo all manufacturing processes, including structural construction, interior decoration, and equipment installation, within the factory, becoming complete 'building units'. Subsequently, these modules are transported to the construction site and assembled using professional lifting equipment to form a complete building. This mode is akin to 'giant express delivery', transporting and assembling the entire building in modular form.

Practical Cases

There are numerous successful transportation cases in practical applications. For instance, a British merchant purchased modular elderly care apartments manufactured in China. The 63 modules were shipped from a Chinese factory and, upon arrival at Southampton Port in the UK, were assembled on-site in just two weeks, demonstrating efficient transportation and assembly capabilities. Guangdong Dongguan Port also loads 'super express deliveries' (each container being a complete house) onto ocean-going giants, shipping them to Australia, North America, the Middle East, and other regions, indicating the wide applicability and international nature of this transportation mode. Additionally, under the supervision of the Shatian Customs under the Huangpu Customs, 2,840 tons of modular houses and equipment were loaded onto the 'Yinping' vessel and transported to Dammam Port in Saudi Arabia, further proving the feasibility and reliability of large-scale transportation of prefabricated house components.

Transportation Advantages

This transportation method offers numerous advantages. On one hand, manufacturing modules in a factory ensures building quality and reduces uncertainties and errors associated with on-site construction. On the other hand, modular transportation and assembly significantly shorten construction periods and improve construction efficiency. Moreover, since modules can be mass-produced in a factory, it also helps reduce construction costs.
