Transforming Containers into Houses
Examples of transforming containers into houses include the "Floating House", a self-built container house by a couple, and the "Internet-famous Cottage", among others. Here are the specific introductions:

"Floating House": This project utilizes recycled shipping containers to construct an elevated residence. The entire building is lifted above the natural ground level, surrounded by native trees, creating a harmonious living environment with nature. The interior walls and ceilings extensively use reclaimed wood from demolitions, which is both eco-friendly and textured. The roof design emphasizes greening and rainwater harvesting, effectively enhancing the ecological benefits of the house. Additionally, the house boasts excellent thermal and sound insulation, ensuring comfortable living conditions. The design of two wooden platform decks provides residents with intimate interaction spaces with the native trees, strengthening the connection between humans and nature.
Self-built Container House by a Couple: A couple chose to sell their city house and use two scrapped containers as the main structure in the countryside. By spacing out the containers and filling the gaps with wooden planks, they successfully expanded the interior space. The roof is sealed with oriented strand board (OSB), covered with waterproof tarpaulin, and fitted with aluminum corrugated tiles, ensuring both durability and waterproofing. The entire construction process strictly followed the blueprints, ensuring that every detail met the design requirements, reflecting a rigorous construction attitude.
"Internet-famous Cottage": Mr. Zhou from Xiaogan, Hubei, spent 13,000 yuan to renovate a second-hand container, creating a cozy home for his parents. The interior adopts a rustic wood style paired with green plants, creating a natural and comfortable living atmosphere. It is equipped with a projection screen, an open-plan kitchen, and a fully functional bathroom, meeting the daily needs of the occupants. During the renovation, Mr. Zhou drew the design plans using his phone's notepad and personally completed the decoration work, showcasing his hands-on skills and innovative thinking.
