Screw Loose on Toilet Sliding Door

Admin October 10, 2026

If the screw on the toilet sliding door is loose, you can follow the steps below based on the location of the loose screw:

Loose screw on the upper pulley: First, open the door and gently feel for the position of the pulley with your fingers or a screwdriver. Once you find the loose screw, use a screwdriver that matches the screw to tighten it. Make sure the screw is fully tightened, but do not apply excessive force that could damage the pulley. If you don't have a screwdriver on hand, you can thread a thin rope or wire through the pulley hole, pull the rope tight, and tie a knot to temporarily secure the pulley. After repairing the screw, to reduce friction and noise of the pulley, you can apply lubricating oil or grease to the surface of the pulley and regularly clean the dust and debris on the pulley to keep it clean.

Loose screw on the upper track sliding door: For an upper track sliding door, there are metal plug-in kits on the left and right that interact with the track. If the screw on the right is loose, the door will tilt to the left. In this case, remove the right metal plug from the kit and use a screwdriver to adjust its tightness. When removing the metal plug, you need to lift the door and move it to the left, and then lock the upper fixing nut. It is best to have two people collaborate in this process. After adjustment, lift the door again and insert the metal plug into the kit.

Loose screw on the top of the sliding door: The top of the sliding door usually has adjusting screws, mostly hexagonal screws. Using a hexagonal wrench, rotate it clockwise to raise the door body and counterclockwise to lower it. When adjusting, ensure that there is a 5 - 10 mm gap between the bottom of the door and the ground. If the door body is tilted, you need to adjust the screws on both sides simultaneously and make fine adjustments repeatedly to restore the door body to a horizontal state.

Loose screw connecting the track and the door frame: Dust, pebbles, or hair accumulated in the track may cause the sliding to be不畅 (not smooth). First, use a vacuum cleaner to clean the track gaps, and then use a screwdriver to check the connecting screws between the track and the door frame. If any are loose, tighten them in a timely manner. If the track is severely deformed, you need to contact a professional to replace the track.

Loose screw at the bottom of the sliding door: If the screw is loose or has fallen off due to long-term use, replace it with a new screw in a timely manner. It is generally recommended to use stainless steel screws. Use a screwdriver to fix it in the screw hole. Before screwing in the new screw, it is advisable to clean the original screw hole with a screwdriver first. If the screw hole is damaged, you can use a wooden plug or a piece of wood to fill it. Choose a piece of wood of an appropriate size (generally slightly larger than the screw hole), and gently tap the wood with a wooden plug hammer or a rubber mallet to make it fit tightly in the screw hole. Do not tap too hard.
