How to Remove a Mobile Toilet Seat

Admin October 13, 2026

There are several methods to remove a mobile toilet seat, and you can choose the appropriate one based on the specific structure of the toilet seat:

Method 1: Removal via Springs Some toilet seats rely on spring mechanisms for fixation. To remove them, first locate the two springs at the connection points between the toilet seat and the toilet. Typically, these springs are positioned on both sides of the toilet seat, near the rear. Use both hands to press down on the two springs simultaneously, maintaining the pressure, and then find the correct upward direction to slowly and evenly lift the entire toilet seat. During this process, ensure that the force is evenly distributed to prevent the springs from popping out or getting damaged due to uneven pressure. If the springs are tight, you can try gently shaking the toilet seat from side to side to assist in the removal.

Method 2: Removal Using White Protrusions Some toilet seats are designed with white protruding buttons as fixation devices. These protrusions are usually located on both sides at the front of the toilet seat. To remove the seat, use your fingers to press down on the two white protrusions simultaneously, maintaining the pressure, and then directly lift the toilet seat upwards. If the protruding buttons are tight, you can first use a tool (such as a screwdriver) to gently pry around the buttons to loosen them before lifting.

Method 3: Removal by Unscrewing Plastic Nuts If the toilet seat is connected to the toilet via two shafts and the bottom of the shafts is fixed with plastic nuts, you will need to operate from underneath the toilet. First, move aside the cabinet door or any obstruction underneath the toilet to expose the plastic nuts fixing the shafts. Use appropriate tools (such as a wrench or pliers) to unscrew the nuts on both sides respectively. After unscrewing the nuts, the fixation device of the toilet seat will loosen, and you can then lift the toilet seat upwards to remove it from the shafts. Pay attention to the rotation direction of the nuts (usually counterclockwise) during operation to avoid over-tightening and causing the nuts to strip.

Method 4: Removal by Aligning Buttons A few toilet seats are designed with hidden buttons located underneath the seat near the connection points. To remove the seat, first observe whether there are two symmetrical buttons or snap-fit structures underneath the toilet seat. Once found, align the buttons (usually by pressing or sliding them to unlock them), and then lift the toilet seat upwards to remove it. If the button positions are not obvious, you can use your hands to feel along the lower edge of the toilet seat for any movable parts.
