Installation of Outdoor Mobile Toilets in Tibet

Admin October 06, 2026

The installation of outdoor mobile toilets in Tibet requires systematic design tailored to the plateau environment, covering aspects such as materials, foundations, processes, testing, and maintenance. The specific key points are as follows:

Materials and Structural Design

The outer shell is made of color-coated steel sheets with an anti-UV coating, and the interior is filled with polyurethane or rock wool insulation layers to cope with low-temperature environments. Structural connectors are made of galvanized or stainless steel to prevent metal oxidation caused by the thin air at high altitudes. The toilet body adopts a modular prefabricated design, reducing ecological disturbance from on-site construction through a splicing method while improving installation efficiency.

Foundation Treatment

To address the issue of permafrost, an adjustable steel frame foundation or a shallow-buried insulation layer design is adopted to prevent ground deformation caused by freeze-thaw cycles. The foundation flatness needs to be detected with a laser level, with the error strictly controlled within 3 millimeters to ensure structural stability.

Installation Process

  1. Main Body Assembly: Steel keels are connected with high-strength bolts. Wall panels and roof panels use a hidden扣合 (buckle-fastening) system, and the joints are filled with sealing strips to ensure airtightness.
  2. Functional Module Integration: Squat toilets, water-saving flushing systems, ventilation ducts, etc., are quickly installed using standardized interfaces to shorten the construction period.
  3. Adaptive Modifications: The ventilation system is equipped with a bidirectional air exchange device, and the water supply and drainage pipes are fitted with electric tracing tapes for anti-freezing. The power system uses solar photovoltaic panels and battery packs for off-grid power supply, reducing dependence on the power grid. The roof is designed to be sloped for easy snow and rain runoff, and the sealing grade of doors and windows needs to meet wind and sand resistance standards.

Quality Control and Testing

  1. Structural Inspection: A plumb line is used to check the verticality, and bolt connection points are tightened according to the preset torque values.
  2. Waterproof and Electrical Testing: The waterproof performance is tested using a segmented water injection method, and an insulation resistance test ensures the safety of the electrical circuits.
  3. Functional Debugging: The response time of the flushing valve needs to be controlled within 0.5-1 second. The air exchange efficiency of the negative pressure ventilation system should be ≥15 times per hour, and the temperature control system needs to pass a 48-hour continuous operation test.

Maintenance Management

Daily maintenance includes cleaning, consumable replenishment, and regular inspection of sealing strips, ventilation systems, and treatment equipment. In high-altitude areas with strong winds, connection components need to be reinforced. In areas with intense ultraviolet radiation, materials need to be treated for corrosion resistance. Energy supply should prioritize solar power to reduce operating costs.
