Taiwan's Views on Mainland Container Houses
There are two different views in Taiwan regarding container houses from the mainland: positive recognition and malicious smearing.

Positive Recognition
In the actions of the mainland's assistance to Taiwan's disaster-stricken areas, the mainland transported prefabricated panel houses via containers to the affected regions. The environmental protection department of the Taiwan authorities released the air quality test results of the model houses, confirming that formaldehyde was “undetectable” and all other data were within normal ranges. This test result provided a scientific basis for the quality of the container houses donated by the mainland, giving the disaster victims a basic assurance of their safety.
After visiting the model rooms of the mainland's panel houses, disaster victim representatives from Xiaolin Village in Jiaxian Township, Kaohsiung County, and Minzu Village in Namasia Township generally expressed satisfaction. They believed that these houses were very durable and capable of withstanding natural disasters, unafraid of strong winds and earthquakes. Moreover, these container houses provided convenient conditions in terms of transportation, water and electricity supply, and education for children. This indicates that in actual usage scenarios, the container houses donated by the mainland effectively met the living needs of the disaster victims, earning their recognition and praise, and demonstrating the practicality and effectiveness of the mainland's assistance.
Malicious Smearing
Some Taiwanese pundits, for certain malicious purposes, have spread rumors and smeared the mainland, claiming that “the mainland's high-speed rail is made from modified containers.” This statement is completely detached from reality and has no scientific basis whatsoever. Netizens on the island have expressed doubts and criticism, considering such remarks extremely ridiculous, saying they are “out of this world,” “a complete insult to the intelligence of the Taiwanese people,” and “ignorant to an incredible degree.” This reflects that such malicious smearing remarks are unpopular and cannot deceive the eyes of the general public, also highlighting the unprofessionalism and immorality of the rumormongers.
