Mobile Toilets near Suzhou Schools

Admin September 24, 2026

During the 2025 Suzhou Marathon, mobile toilets were set up near Jiangsu Suzhou Experimental High School, and there was a supply-demand imbalance in the overall allocation of mobile toilets for the event.

Specific Arrangement of Mobile Toilets

During the 2025 Suzhou Marathon, there was a row of mobile toilets near Jiangsu Suzhou Experimental High School, approximately 20 meters away from the school's entrance sign. This location was relatively clear, making it easy for runners to quickly find and use the toilets when passing through the area. In terms of the overall layout, the event organizing committee set up a total of 128 mobile toilets on that day, with an average of one toilet every 2.5 kilometers. This distribution was planned based on the event route and the distribution of runners, theoretically covering the entire event route and providing relatively convenient toilet facilities for the runners.

Match between the Number of Mobile Toilets and Demand

The event organizing committee believed that theoretically, these mobile toilets should be able to meet the needs of 25,000 runners. This was estimated based on factors such as the number of mobile toilets, their distribution density, and the scale of the event. According to the plan of having one mobile toilet every 2.5 kilometers, under reasonable usage frequencies and runner distributions, it could provide basic toilet facilities for the runners.

Problems in Actual Use

However, during the actual event, long queues for toilets still appeared in some areas. This indicated that although the number and distribution plan of the mobile toilets seemed to meet the demand on paper, there were some issues in actual implementation. Some runners reported that the cleaning frequency of the toilets was insufficient, which might be one of the important reasons for the toilet congestion in some areas. Insufficient cleaning frequency would deteriorate the toilet environment, affecting the runners' usage experience. It might also lead to some toilets being out of service, further exacerbating the toilet shortage. In addition, factors such as runners concentrating on using mobile toilets in certain areas and the event route design causing a large runner flow in some areas might also contribute to the insufficient supply of mobile toilets in those areas.
