Suzhou Container House Standards

Admin September 15, 2026

The standards for container houses in Suzhou primarily cover structural safety, fire resistance, eco-friendly materials, service life, and other aspects.

Structural Safety: The main frame steel of container houses in Suzhou must comply with national standards of Q235 or higher to ensure sufficient strength and stability. In terms of earthquake resistance, they should be able to withstand at least a magnitude 7 earthquake to cope with potential seismic activities. The wind resistance rating should reach levels 8-10, corresponding to wind speeds of 28.5-32.6 m/s, to withstand strong winds. For example, the container houses produced by Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. use a fully steel structural frame. Under the impact of a level 12 strong wind, the maximum deformation of the frame is only 2mm, far below the national standard limit of 10mm.

Fire Resistance: Wall filling materials commonly used include rock wool and glass wool, with a fire resistance rating of Class A (non-combustible materials) to prevent the spread of fire and ensure personnel safety in the event of a fire.

Eco-Friendly Materials: With increasing environmental awareness, container houses in Suzhou also place greater emphasis on eco-friendliness in material selection. Commonly used are 50mm-100mm thick sandwich panels, with thermal conductivity typically ranging from 0.035-0.045 W/(m·K), superior to traditional brick walls. Additionally, these materials have a high recycling rate, aligning with sustainable development principles.

Service Life: Using high-quality galvanized or painted steel structures, container houses in Suzhou can have a designed service life of 15-20 years under standard usage conditions, reducing costs and time waste associated with frequent replacements.

Other Standards: Container houses in Suzhou must also comply with relevant modular construction technical standards, such as GB/T 38264-2019 "Modular Construction Technical Standards", which specify requirements for structural stability, integration efficiency, and export compliance. Additionally, with industry development, new acceptance standards like T/CECS 1932-2025 "Container House Quality Acceptance Standards" are being gradually implemented, imposing stricter acceptance criteria on welds in the container structure and the combustion performance of fire-resistant materials.
