Standard Container House Doors and Windows

Admin September 17, 2026

The dimensions and selection recommendations for doors and windows of standard container houses are as follows:

I. Door Size Standards
The doors of standard container houses come in two types: single doors and double doors. The single door measures 800 mm (width) × 2000 mm (height), suitable for daily personnel entry and exit, meeting regular passage needs. The double door measures 1600 mm (width) × 2000 mm (height), with double the width, facilitating the handling of large equipment or goods, commonly found in warehousing or scenarios requiring frequent loading and unloading. The heights of both types of doors match the height of the container body, ensuring structural harmony after installation.

II. Window Size Standards
Window design should balance natural lighting, ventilation, and space utilization. The ideal size is 1200 mm (width) × 950 mm (height), providing ample natural light and effective airflow, improving indoor air quality. Additionally, a window 1.2 meters wide is known as the 'golden size,' offering high ventilation efficiency without appearing cramped, suitable for residential or office settings. If space is limited, sliding windows are recommended for warehouse use, as they open horizontally, saving external space, though their sealing performance may be slightly inferior to that of casement windows.

III. Material and Functional Selection

  1. Thermal Insulation Needs: For houses located in areas with significant temperature variations, it is recommended to use aluminum alloy tempered coated hollow casement windows. The hollow glass structure effectively blocks heat transfer, the coated layer reflects part of the solar radiation, and the sealing strips further reduce air infiltration, enhancing energy efficiency.
  2. Usage Scenario Adaptation: For residential or office purposes, prioritize standard-sized casement windows that balance ventilation and safety. For industrial settings like warehouses, sliding windows are preferable for quick opening without occupying passage space.
  3. Opening Method Precautions: Avoid outward-opening casement windows, as they may become inoperable due to rainwater backflow on rainy days and pose safety hazards. Inner-push or sliding windows are recommended; the former opens inward to avoid conflicts with the external environment, while the latter uses a sliding mechanism to avoid wind and rain impact.

IV. Other Considerations
Before installing doors and windows, measure the container's opening dimensions to ensure they match standard specifications. If custom non-standard sizes are required, communicate with the supplier in advance about structural strength and sealing performance. Additionally, for coastal or high-humidity areas, it is advisable to choose doors and windows with anti-corrosion coatings to extend their service life.
