Stainless Steel Prefabricated Housing Components

Admin September 18, 2026

Stainless steel prefabricated housing components mainly include stainless steel formwork and components related to stainless steel living building technology, offering a variety of unique advantages and application scenarios.

Stainless Steel Formwork:
Stainless steel formwork belongs to construction formwork, with common structures including "tie-piece" type formwork and integrated molding designs. Made of stainless steel, it features a smooth surface and high hardness, making it less prone to sticking during concrete pouring. After the concrete is removed from the formwork, it ensures a high level of flatness, effectively enhancing the surface quality of building components. In 2023, stainless steel formwork was first applied in the slip-form construction of the Taian COFCO project, and in 2026, it was also adopted in the production of prefabricated components for the Jinan Phoenix Yellow River Bridge South Extension Project. Additionally, stainless steel formwork has a wide range of applications. Besides being used in the construction sector for building components, it can also be applied in scenarios such as furniture panels, flooring, door panels, and wall panels, providing high-quality formwork support for the production of these products.

Components Related to Stainless Steel Living Building Technology:
The world's first stainless steel living building, created by Hunan Broad Technologies Group, uses stainless steel core panels as key components. These stainless steel core panels are welded from very thin stainless steel tubes and sandwiched between two steel plates at the top and bottom. The building does not use reinforced concrete, achieving 100% prefabrication in the factory. Each room is like an assembly produced in a workshop, which is assembled and then transported to the construction site for further assembly. The modules are assembled by cranes and connected to water and electricity, allowing for the construction of ten floors in a single day, significantly shortening the construction period. In terms of spatial flexibility, since there are no load-bearing walls, walls can be freely moved during renovation to meet different spatial layout requirements. If the land is to be used for other industrial purposes, the entire building can be relocated, enhancing the building's adaptability. In terms of performance, the toughness of the new stainless steel is 100 times that of reinforced concrete. The design structure has passed rigorous seismic tests, ensuring that the building will deform but not collapse during a magnitude-nine earthquake, with a lifespan of thousands of years. At the same time, this industrialized production method significantly reduces construction costs.
