In addition, toilets have been built or upgraded along the coastal areas, such as Yan'erdao Road, Ningxia Road, May Fourth Square, Tianlin Garden, Taipingjiao, and Zhanqiao Pier, with some involving the renewal or upgrading of mobile toilets. Currently, there are a total of 147 public toilets in Shinan District, forming a '5-minute public toilet service circle' along the coastal scenic areas. Mobile toilets, as an important part, have effectively improved the convenience for tourists to use the restrooms.

- Luxury Eco-Friendly Type: Each toilet is equipped with 2 squatting positions and costs 200,000 yuan. The interior is made of all stainless steel, and the exterior uses high-grade anti-corrosion materials, with other facilities being of medium to high quality. Two solar panels and power generation equipment are installed on the top, increasing the cost by 30,000 to 40,000 yuan for this part alone, offering both eco-friendliness and energy efficiency.
- Ordinary Mobile Type: Previously, 4-squatting-position mobile toilets were placed at front-sea attractions such as Zhanqiao Pier and Huiquan Square, with each costing about 100,000 yuan, meeting basic usage needs.
- Technologically Upgraded Type: Among the 8 toilets updated along the coastal areas, some have introduced technologies showcased at the World Expo, solving environmental protection challenges by optimizing the water supply and drainage systems and reducing reliance on traditional pipe networks.
Service Functions
In addition to providing basic restroom services, some mobile public toilets offer multiple convenience functions:
- Public Service Facilities: Free Wi-Fi, toilet paper, hand cream, direct-drinking purified water, 'QR Code Guide' service, and mobile phone charging equipment.
- Intelligent and Humanized Design: Equipped with fully automatic ecological atomization deodorization equipment, intelligent civilization reminder systems, luggage racks, child-specific squatting positions, and changing tables.
