Mobile Toilet Renovation at Jinci Scenic Area: During the May Day holiday in 2024, the Jinci Scenic Area in Shanxi took innovative measures to renovate mobile toilets to alleviate the long queues at women's restrooms. Specifically, men's restrooms were temporarily converted into women's restrooms, and additional buses were deployed as mobile men's restrooms. This initiative, the first attempt based on past experiences, aimed to balance the usage ratio of men's and women's restrooms by increasing the number of women's restrooms and enhance the restroom experience for visitors. The buses were carefully parked in areas that did not obstruct visitor movement or the appearance of ancient buildings, and they were well-equipped and clean, ensuring comfort and convenience for visitors. By implementing this optimization measure, the average daily restroom接待量 (reception capacity) at the Jinci Scenic Area during peak visitor periods increased significantly from about 3,000 to 5,000 people, effectively alleviating the long queues at women's restrooms. Jinci staff indicated that the mobile toilets might be removed after the May Day holiday, but this successful experience might be adopted for future holidays.
Procurement and Installation of Mobile Toilets in the Main Urban Area of Changzhi City: Meanwhile, the main urban area of Changzhi City is also actively promoting the construction of mobile toilets. In 2024, Changzhi City launched a procurement project for mobile prefabricated public restrooms (urban stations), with a budget of up to 1,773,800.00 yuan. The project has specific requirements for the delivery and installation period: 30-square-meter hoisted restrooms must arrive within 30 days, and prefabricated restrooms must have materials arrive within 30 days and be installed and commissioned within 180 days. The implementation of this project will further enhance the level of public sanitation facilities in the main urban area of Changzhi City, providing more convenient and comfortable restroom environments for citizens and visitors.
