Shantou has installed mobile toilets in multiple areas to meet public toilet needs in different scenarios.

I. Donghaian New City Area Donghaian New City is one of the areas in Shantou where mobile toilets are installed more concentratedly. Among them, the Xinjin area has installed Mobile Toilets No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3, providing convenient toilet conditions for surrounding residents and tourists. In addition, on the east and west sides of the kite-flying field, there are also holiday-exclusive mobile toilets, with 15 each. These holiday-exclusive mobile toilets are mainly open during holidays to cope with the increased toilet pressure caused by the surge in tourist numbers during holidays, effectively alleviating the contradiction between public toilet supply and demand and enhancing the tourist experience.

II. Dongfang Subdistrict Office Area The Dongfang Subdistrict Office in Shantou has also taken measures to install mobile toilets. In the alley near the food street, the Dongfang Subdistrict Office has temporarily installed mobile toilets as a temporary measure during the May Day holiday. During peak tourist periods like May Day, the food street experiences a significant increase in tourist numbers, and the existing public toilets are unable to meet the demand. The temporary installation of mobile toilets can promptly solve the toilet problems for tourists and citizens. However, these temporarily installed mobile toilets are planned to be removed after the May Day holiday to restore the normal order of the alley.

III. Significance of Mobile Toilet Installation The installation of mobile toilets in Shantou, whether permanently placed in areas like Donghaian New City or temporarily installed near the food street in the Dongfang Subdistrict Office, holds great significance. On the one hand, it effectively supplements the number of fixed public toilets, increases the coverage rate of public toilets, and meets the toilet needs of people in different areas and at different times. On the other hand, mobile toilets have the advantages of high flexibility and easy installation, allowing for rapid deployment and adjustment according to actual needs, playing an important role in responding to emergencies and large-scale events.
