Self-made Mobile Toilet Design: Bathtub

Admin October 10, 2026

Currently, there is no direct and complete solution for designing a bathtub in a self-made mobile toilet, but design ideas can be provided by combining relevant cases, achieving similar bathtub functions by modifying water storage barrels or chemical barrels and optimizing their internal space, water storage, and drainage systems.

Water Storage Barrel Modification Plan: Refer to the case of using a water storage barrel to make a mobile toilet. First, split the water storage barrel in half lengthwise and fix universal wheels at the four corners of the wooden board to facilitate moving the entire device. Next, use wooden strips to increase the height of the barrel, providing space for installing other components later. Open a hole on the side of the water storage barrel, install a door frame, walls, and a roof to create a relatively enclosed space. Open a hole at the bottom of the barrel to install a drainage pipe, forming a floor drain to discharge used water. Open holes on the side to connect interfaces, place a plastic barrel on the roof as a small water storage device, and connect it to the interior through a water pipe. Use a water pipe to make a simple bath heater to provide some heating function. Install a three-way valve below the water inlet pipe and connect a showerhead, so that when there is enough water in the water storage device, turning on the showerhead can achieve a shower function. To further achieve a bathtub function, optimize the water storage device, such as increasing the capacity of the plastic barrel to store more water and meet the need for a bath; at the same time, design a suitable recessed shape inside the barrel, similar to the shape of a bathtub, so that people can soak more comfortably.

Chemical Barrel Modification Plan: Draw on the case of using two chemical barrels to build a mobile toilet. Place two plastic barrels upside down together and fix upper and lower iron frames to ensure structural stability. Cut out a door frame and internal space, and use iron sheets to fix the gaps to prevent water leakage. Open holes in the corners to install PVC pipes, connecting a toilet and a washbasin to achieve basic sanitary functions. Similarly, use PVC pipes to make a showerhead and connect them to water pipes. To achieve a bathtub function, reserve a larger area when designing the internal space of the chemical barrels, and design appropriate dimensions and shapes according to ergonomics. Optimize the water storage system by using a larger container to store water or adding multiple small water storage devices in series. For the drainage system, ensure that the diameter of the drainage pipe is large enough to quickly discharge the water after bathing and avoid water accumulation.
