Innovative Design of Mobile Toilets in Scenic Areas

Admin October 11, 2026

The innovative design of mobile toilets in scenic areas is mainly reflected in two aspects: aesthetic design transformation and specific design case innovation.

Aesthetic Design Transformation

  • Principle of Environmental Integration: Different types of scenic areas design toilets according to their own environmental characteristics. Mountain-and-water scenic areas use imitation wood grain materials and sloped roofs, which complement the natural landscapes and make the toilets seem like part of the natural scenery. Ancient town blocks borrow the horse-head walls and lattice windows of traditional buildings, continuing the historical charm and cultural atmosphere of the ancient towns. Modern theme parks employ streamlined structures and bright colors, aligning with their modern and lively styles and providing tourists with a unique visual experience.
  • Principle of Cultural Symbols: Skillfully integrate local characteristic cultural elements into toilet design. The Dunhuang scenic area transforms the flying apsaras murals into decorative patterns on the exterior walls of the toilets, allowing tourists to feel the charm of Dunhuang culture while using the toilets. The Jiangnan water towns adopt a simple style with white walls and black tiles, reflecting the gentleness and elegance of the Jiangnan water towns. Minority regions use the patterns and colors of traditional costumes, showcasing the unique ethnic customs of the local area and making the toilets a window for spreading local culture.
  • Principle of Visual Surprise: Break people's stereotypes of toilets through creative shapes. Designed as giant mushrooms, fairy-tale castles, or space capsules and other irregular structures, these novel shapes not only attract tourists' attention but also add a sense of fun and uniqueness to the scenic area, making the toilets popular spots for tourists to take photos and check in.

Specific Design Case Innovation

  • A toilet with 8 squatting positions is designed as a whole using containers. The exterior walls are spliced with real stone paint and Great Wall panels. This design not only ensures the sturdiness and practicality of the toilet but also has aesthetic appeal. The central hand-washing area is equipped with double basins for the convenience of tourists. The men's toilet is installed with 3 urinals and 4 partitioned squatting positions, reasonably planning the space and improving the usage efficiency.
  • The toilet with a warm-toned apple-pod shape is unique. The exterior walls have a two-color design, increasing the visual sense of hierarchy and design. The double-door design in the middle is not only aesthetically pleasing but also serves as insulation, providing a comfortable environment for tourists to use the toilet in cold weather.
