Overall Rural Small Mobile Toilet

Admin October 05, 2026

Rural small mobile toilets are facilities that can be moved at any time to address the hygiene and convenience issues of traditional dry latrines. They are typically made of steel or plastic, equipped with squat toilets and flush tanks, and some even have shower functions. The price range is from 400 to 6000 yuan, depending on the configuration.

Material and Durability

The choice of material for rural small mobile toilets directly affects their service life and applicability. Color-coated steel plates or metal carved plates are more durable options, as these materials are corrosion-resistant and weather-resistant, making them suitable for long-term outdoor use. Plastic materials are lighter but relatively less durable, so a trade-off needs to be made based on the usage scenario.

Structural and Functional Classification

Mobile toilets come in various structural forms, mainly divided into single-unit structures and composite structures. Single-unit structures are highly independent and suitable for decentralized layouts; composite structures, on the other hand, achieve functional expansion through modular design, such as adding shower rooms or storage spaces. Based on mobility, they can be classified as lifting and handling types (relying on manual or mechanical handling) and powered and towed types (equipped with power units or towable for movement). The latter are more suitable for scenarios that require frequent repositioning. Sewage treatment methods are one of the core classification criteria:

  • Water-flush and non-water-flush suction types: These rely on a water source to clean feces through flushing or suction, requiring regular maintenance of the sewage tank.
  • Recirculating water-flush types: These achieve water resource recycling through a filtration system, highlighting water conservation.
  • Dry packing types: These use biodegradable bags to collect feces, requiring no water source, and are suitable for water-scarce areas.

Site Selection and Installation Requirements

Site selection should meet the conditions of being more than 30 meters away from a water source and on high ground to avoid contaminating the water source and rainwater backflow. The installation process is simple and can be completed by two people working together in half a day, mainly involving floor fixation, wall assembly, and sanitary ware installation.

Hygiene and Convenience Improvements

Compared to traditional dry latrines, mobile toilets effectively solve problems such as mosquito breeding, cold in winter, and odor diffusion. They also improve hygiene levels through flushing or dry packing technology, and some models even integrate shower functions, further improving the rural living environment and enhancing the quality of life.
