Residential Container Houses

Admin September 10, 2026

Residential container houses are livable or office building forms converted from shipping containers as basic structural modules. They are eco-friendly, flexible, and low-cost, with wide applications.

Structure and performance features

  • Structural composition: taking a quick-assemble box as an example, the frame consists of 8 corner castings, 4 columns, and 8 beams, using 16×16 cm channel steel 2.3 mm thick, with high-temperature baked paint for rust protection. This structure provides a solid support frame for the container house.
  • Performance advantages: some container houses excel at thermal insulation—retaining heat in cold winters and blocking heat in hot summers to keep indoor comfort; standard doors and windows balance convenience and safety; walls often use yellow rock-wool sandwich panels with bright color that resists fading. Some products also offer heat insulation, seismic resistance, waterproofing, low-carbon eco credentials, safety, and mobility; interiors follow clear design standards with AC, bathrooms, kitchens, and more; service life can exceed 40 years, with good drainage systems and smart design.

Application fields

  • Temporary living and offices: common on construction sites as worker dorms; also temporary offices, factory buildings, field workplaces, meeting temporary living and office needs.
  • Public facilities: can serve as guard booths, shops, toilets, equipment rooms, etc., for outdoor shows, exhibitions, major sports events, and other scenes needing service facilities.
  • Special scenarios: important in emergency medical facility builds thanks to rapid deployment; can also become creative spaces such as boutique guesthouse scenic spots or 24-hour self-service fitness pods; in construction, rail, highway, water conservancy, oil, tourism, and other industries, used as temporary or mobile offices, command posts, dorms, meeting rooms, warehouses, and shops—ready to use with an external power connection.
