Qijiang Municipal Mobile Toilets
The mobile toilets in Qijiang have undergone upgrades and renovations to optimize their distribution and enhance service levels.

The Urban Management Bureau of Qijiang District has carried out a systematic upgrade of mobile public toilets in the urban area, aiming to improve citizens' toilet-using experience and optimize the layout of public service facilities. This renovation covers two main aspects: the renovation of old public toilets and the construction of new ones, with specific measures as follows:
I. Scope and Progress of Renovation
- Renovation of Old Public Toilets: Four old mobile public toilets in the urban area have undergone comprehensive renovation. Three of them have been updated and put into use, while the remaining one, located at the Tuowan River-crossing Ferry Terminal, is expected to be installed later. The renovation focuses on facility upgrades, including internal structural optimization and improvement of sanitary conditions, to enhance basic usability.
- Addition of New Public Toilets: A new mobile public toilet has been added in the area of Shaxi Primary School and Chengbei Bridge, further expanding the service coverage. The newly built public toilet strictly adheres to modern design standards, balancing practicality and aesthetics.
II. Distribution Optimization and Functional Enhancement
- Scientific Site Selection and Layout: Mobile public toilets are mainly distributed in high-frequency activity areas for citizens, such as Shangsheng Street, Jiulong Primary School, Shaxi Primary School, and other core locations, ensuring that public resources match demand. The newly added Chengbei Bridge public toilet effectively fills the service gap in the surrounding area and alleviates toilet pressure during peak hours.
- Highlighted Facility Upgrades: Some renovated public toilets have been equipped with additional handwashing sinks and have optimized supporting facilities such as ventilation and lighting, significantly improving toilet comfort. For example, the public toilets around Shaxi Primary School have met the basic hygiene needs of teachers, students, and parents by adding handwashing sinks, reflecting a human-centered design concept.
III. Significance for Public Services
This upgrade and renovation not only improve hardware conditions but also strengthen the balance of the public service network through dynamic adjustments to the distribution of public toilets. By adopting a combined strategy of “renovation + new construction”, the Urban Management Bureau has addressed the aging of old facilities and responded to new demands arising from urban development by adding new locations, providing citizens with a more convenient and hygienic toilet environment and demonstrating the精细化 (meticulous) level of urban management.
