Mobile Toilets in Pudong New Scenic Area

Admin October 08, 2026

Pudong New Area has made multiple arrangements for mobile toilets in scenic areas and other regions, including procurement and updates, rental services, and the transformation into a 'nighttime unmanned mode'.

Procurement and Updates: In 2026, Pudong New Area plans to procure and update seven mobile public toilets located at 805 Gaoxiang Road, Cailun Road and Huatuo Road intersection, Puming Road and Qixin Road intersection, the bus stop at Lane 373 Yanzhong Road, Taolin Road and Shangcheng Road intersection, Lijin Road and Jufeng Road intersection, and beside 1349 Yunshan Road. The newly procured and updated mobile public toilets will have separate men's and women's restrooms set up in proportion, as well as a separate third restroom and barrier-free access, fully considering the usage needs of different groups of people and reflecting a human-centered design concept. The total investment for this project is 2.485 million yuan, with 1.9 million yuan allocated in 2026, and the shortfall to be included in the 2027 departmental budget.

Rental Services: Pudong New Area offers eco-friendly mobile toilet rental services, specifically designed for outdoor events, construction sites, and remote areas, and also suitable for scenic areas and other scenarios. These toilets feature lightweight modular designs for quick installation and flexible deployment, allowing for timely adjustments in location and quantity according to the actual needs of the scenic areas. They are equipped with water-saving flushing systems, with a single flush volume as low as 1.5 liters, combined with biodegradable technology to effectively reduce sewage discharge and meet environmental protection requirements. Powered by solar panels on the top, they support LED lighting and ventilation systems, ensuring both energy efficiency and a high-quality internal environment. Inside, they are equipped with odor-proof toilets, automatic induction hand sanitizer dispensers, and touch-free trash cans, with the exterior walls made of heat-insulating and rust-proof materials, and optional barrier-free facilities available. Moreover, the rental service includes regular cleaning and maintenance as well as replenishment of consumables, providing convenience for scenic areas.

Transformation into 'Nighttime Unmanned Mode': One mobile public toilet located at the intersection of Century Avenue and Yanggao Middle Road has been transformed to feature a 'nighttime unmanned mode'. During the day, it is maintained and managed by cleaning staff, and from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, citizens can use the toilet for free by scanning a QR code via WeChat mini-program, with each toilet stall equipped with an alarm device. Subsequently, attempts will be made to transform hundreds of mobile public toilets near subway stations and scenic areas to meet citizens' nighttime toilet needs.
