Mobile Toilet Solutions in Pudong New Area

Admin October 10, 2026

Pudong New Area enhances its service levels in mobile toilets through multi-dimensional measures such as installation for large events, public toilet renovations, upgrades, and construction plans.

I. Installation of Mobile Toilets for Large Events
Pudong New Area adopts a refined management model for large events. Before installation, it evaluates the event type and crowd size, allocating one mobile toilet (including gender-separated areas and barrier-free facilities) for every 50-100 people. It also surveys the site's terrain, load-bearing capacity, and entrance/exit locations in advance to ensure compliance with environmental and fire safety standards before submitting a备案申请 (filing application). For selection, the basic model is equipped with squatting pans, sinks, and flushing systems, while the premium model can be customized with event logos. Female toilet stalls are allocated at a ratio of 1:1.5, and母婴室 (nursing rooms) are added. Installation involves professional vehicle transportation, positioning with cranes or forklifts, connecting temporary water and electricity supplies, and laying sewage pipes. After completion, a thorough disinfection and equipment function check are conducted. During events, cleaning occurs every four hours, and dedicated personnel are assigned for inspections.

II. Mobile Public Toilet Renovation Project
Pudong New Area has procured and renovated seven mobile public toilets, including those at 805 Gaoxiang Road and the intersection of Cailun Road and Huatuo Road, with a total investment of 2.485 million yuan. In 2026, 1.9 million yuan will be allocated, with the remaining funds included in the 2027 budget. The renovated toilets feature independently separated male and female restrooms, along with the addition of third restrooms and barrier-free access, enhancing usability.

III. Upgrading of Mobile Public Toilets
The renovated toilets feature a color scheme of light beige and light brown with dark blue trim, blending harmoniously with the surrounding environment. In high-traffic areas, barrier-free access and stainless steel handrails are added. Internally, ordinary restrooms are simply and brightly decorated, creating "age-friendly and child-friendly" stalls equipped with assistive handrails and child-specific designs. The electronic screens on restroom doors display real-time usage status. Additionally, some toilets have added "sanitation stations" equipped with refrigerators, showers, and microwaves, with plans to expand coverage in the future.

IV. Construction Plan for Mobile Toilets
Site selection is based on pedestrian heat maps and event plans, with a tiered distribution approach. The "plug-and-play" model ensures accessibility within a five-minute walk without disrupting main road landscapes. Technologically, there is a preference for microbial degradation technology and a combination of "packaging-style + vacuum suction," along with standard intelligent components (such as "occupied/unoccupied" screens and automatic deodorization systems). Design details include one-touch emergency buttons, anti-collision rounded corners, and an "upward supply, downward exhaust" ventilation method. Some plans integrate charging ports and vending machines. In terms of operation and maintenance, during peak hours, the frequency of waste removal increases to once every 1-2 hours. In extreme weather, reinforcement measures are pre-set, and a联动流程 (joint response process) is established with local authorities.
