Requirements for Prefabricated Wall Panel Assembly Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

The requirements for prefabricated wall panel assembly houses cover aspects such as base layer treatment, temporary support, panel joint treatment, material and construction quality, integrity, and adherence to technical specifications, as detailed below:

1. Base Layer Treatment
Before installation, the top surface of the load-bearing wall must be rigorously treated to ensure it is flat and stable. Specific operations include: pre-moistening the wall top surface to enhance bonding strength; using high-grade cement mortar (e.g., M15 or above) for leveling, ensuring the mortar layer is full and uniform with a thickness deviation controlled within ±3mm; strictly prohibiting the use of dry bricks, crushed stones, or other debris for leveling to avoid wall panel cracking or settlement caused by uneven local stress.

2. Temporary Support and Fixation
Once the wall panels are in place, a temporary support system must be immediately installed to prevent displacement or overturning. Typically, two diagonal supports of different lengths are used to fix the wall panels: the short support is used to adjust verticality, while the long support stabilizes the overall position; a limiting device (such as a U-shaped clip or bolt) must be installed at the top to ensure precise alignment between the wall panel and the structural layer. The support should not be removed until the concrete strength at the wall panel connection reaches at least 75% of the design value.

3. Panel Joint Treatment
Panel joints are critical areas for preventing water penetration and cracking and require layered treatment:

  • Base Layer Treatment: Remove dust from the joints and rinse them thoroughly with high-pressure air or water;
  • Filling Material: Use exterior wall flexible waterproof putty to fill the joints to two-thirds of their depth, compacting and smoothing the surface;
  • Sealing Layer: Apply polyurethane elastic waterproof coating (thickness ≥1.5mm) to form a continuous waterproof membrane;
  • Reinforcement Layer: Adhere fiberglass mesh (width ≥200mm) to enhance crack resistance.

4. Material and Construction Quality
Material selection must comply with specifications: the concrete strength grade of prefabricated wall panels should be no less than C30, with a reinforcement cover thickness deviation of ≤±3mm; during construction, strict control of the process is required, for example: the verticality deviation of wall panel installation should be ≤3mm/m, and the levelness deviation should be ≤5mm; connection joints (such as bolts and welds) must undergo 100% inspection to ensure no looseness or missed welds.

5. Integrity Requirements
Wall panels must be reliably connected to the main structure (columns, floor slabs, etc.) to avoid a “loose assembly” phenomenon. Specific measures include:

  • Embedded parts should be spaced ≤600mm apart and firmly welded to the main reinforcement of the wall panels;
  • Shear keys or steel bar anchoring should be provided at the junctions between floor slabs and wall panels;
  • L-shaped wall panels or additional structural columns should be used at wall corners to enhance spatial stiffness.

6. Adherence to Technical Specifications
Construction must strictly follow the Technical Specification for Multi-Story Fully Assembled Concrete Wall-Panel Structures (DBJ 43/T xxx-2016), which specifies material properties, design calculations, construction processes, and acceptance criteria (e.g., the allowable deviation for panel joint width is ±2mm, and the allowable deviation for verticality is H/1000 and ≤20mm).

By implementing these measures, the structural safety, durability, and functionality of prefabricated wall panel assembly houses can be ensured.
