Prefabricated Steel Frame House Structural Diagram

Admin September 19, 2026

Currently, it is not possible to directly provide a structural diagram of a prefabricated steel frame house, but its structural systems and construction features can be introduced through practical cases.

The structural systems of prefabricated steel frame houses are diverse, with different regions and projects adopting various forms based on their needs. Taking a villa project in Chongming, Shanghai as an example, it employs a fully-bolted steel frame structural system. This system offers numerous advantages. The fully-bolted connection method makes on-site installation more convenient and efficient, reduces welding operations, and improves construction speed and quality. Factory-produced ALC wall panels and floor slabs with fixed dimensions, along with prefabricated decoration, achieve a prefabrication rate of over 70% for the entire building. This means that most building components are manufactured in the factory and only need to be assembled on-site after transportation, significantly shortening the construction period. Additionally, due to the high precision of factory production, the quality and stability of the building can also be guaranteed.

Japan boasts a rich variety of construction techniques for prefabricated steel frame composite houses, including panel-frame type, frame type, frame-and-wall-panel combined type, heavy steel frame type, and modular type. The panel-frame type typically combines panels and frames to form the basic structure of the house, featuring a simple structure and convenient construction. The frame type focuses more on the construction of the steel frame, supporting the entire house through a reasonable layout of steel frames. The frame-and-wall-panel combined type combines the advantages of the previous two, ensuring structural stability while improving the house's thermal insulation, sound insulation, and other properties. The heavy steel frame type is suitable for buildings with high structural strength requirements, capable of withstanding large loads. The modular type divides the house into multiple modules, which are prefabricated in the factory and then transported to the site for assembly. This method has a high degree of standardization, facilitating large-scale production and construction.

Although it is not possible to directly display the structural diagram, by understanding these structural systems and construction techniques, one can gain a deeper insight into the structure of prefabricated steel frame houses, providing a reference for further research and design.
