Prefabricated Partition Walls for Houses
Admin September 18, 2026
Prefabricated partition walls for houses are modular or non-modular walls produced through industrial methods, used for dividing indoor spaces and featuring convenient installation and diverse functions. The following are their common types, brand parameters, and construction points:

I. Common Types and Materials
Modular Walls
- Glass Modules: Featuring tempered or laminated glass panels paired with metal frames, they offer high light transmittance and are suitable for office or living room partitions, enhancing spatial transparency.
- Melamine Board Modules: Covered with a wear-resistant finish layer, they are moisture-proof and stain-resistant, commonly used in bedrooms or storage rooms, with a wide range of color options and relatively low cost.
- Lightweight Concrete Modules: Filled with foam particles or honeycomb structures internally, they are lightweight and provide good sound insulation, suitable for scenarios requiring privacy.
Non-Modular Walls
- Brick Partition Walls: Constructed using lightweight bricks or aerated concrete bricks, they have high compressive strength (e.g., 25MPa) but require a long construction period, suitable for areas with high load-bearing requirements.
- Light Steel Keel Gypsum Board Walls: With light steel keels as the framework and gypsum boards as the outer covering, they can be filled with sound insulation cotton in between, having a compressive strength of approximately 3.6-7MPa. They offer fast construction speed and are a mainstream choice for indoor partitions.
II. Brands and Parameters
- Brands: Common domestic brands include Dongjin Building Materials (specializing in high-strength modules), Heyuda (focusing on light steel keel systems), and Gangde (providing customized glass partitions), among others.
- Shape and Size: Mostly rectangular or panel-shaped, with a standard size of 1200mm×2400mm, which can be cut according to needs.
- Compressive Strength: Modular walls typically have a compressive strength of 3.6-7MPa, while brick walls can reach 25MPa. Selection should be based on the usage location (e.g., higher strength is required for floor slab load-bearing areas).
III. Construction Points (Taking Light Steel Keel Gypsum Board Walls as an Example)
- Framework Installation: Fix the top and bottom keels, and control the spacing between vertical keels at 400-600mm to ensure stability.
- Functional Layer Addition: Fill sound insulation cotton or thermal insulation materials between the keels to enhance sound insulation performance (STC can reach 45-50 decibels).
- Panel Fixation: Secure the gypsum boards with self-tapping screws, with a spacing of ≤200mm, and stagger the joints.
- Edge Finishing: Use metal trim strips or putty to fill gaps, and the surface can be painted with latex paint or wallpapered.
IV. Application Scenarios
- Indoor Non-Load-Bearing Areas: Such as separating the living room and dining room, or as bedroom closet partitions.
- Floor Slab Areas: Lightweight materials (e.g., light steel keels + gypsum boards) should be selected to avoid overloading.
- Humid Environments: Prioritize the use of melamine boards or moisture-proof gypsum boards, and ensure proper waterproofing measures are taken.
Prefabricated partition walls improve construction efficiency through industrial production, but the type and material should be comprehensively selected based on spatial function, load-bearing requirements, and budget.
