Special Adhesive for Prefabricated Panel House Roof
Admin September 19, 2026
For the special adhesive for prefabricated panel house roofs, depending on the type of crack and repair needs, a combination of 'waterproof adhesive + leak stopper + crack injection adhesive' or specialized roof waterproof adhesives (butyl tape, waterproof coating, sealant) can be selected for treatment. Specific selection and construction key points are as follows:

I. Combined Material Solution: Targeted Treatment for Different Leakage Scenarios
- Crack Injection Adhesive: For deep cracks such as those in prefabricated panel joints, its high permeability allows it to deeply fill the interior of the cracks. After curing, it forms an elastic adhesive that can adapt to the deformation of the roof caused by settlement, preventing repeated cracking.
- Leak Stopper: Suitable for emergency leak-stopping scenarios, such as when cracks are spraying water or the base layer is damp during heavy rain. It can rapidly cure (stopping leaks in about 10 minutes) even in standing water, buying time for subsequent repairs.
- Waterproof Adhesive: Used for comprehensive protection, it can be applied to the surface of cracks or large areas of the roof to form an elastic waterproof membrane. It is especially suitable for sealing complex joints (such as around pipes and corners).
II. Types and Applicable Scenarios of Specialized Roof Waterproof Adhesives
- Butyl Tape: Composed mainly of butyl rubber, it has strong adhesion and excellent weather resistance. It is suitable for small-area repairs such as around pipes and iron roof seams. It is easy to apply and provides long-lasting sealing.
- Waterproof Coating: It can stretch twice without breaking and is waterproof even when soaked. It is suitable for preventing water accumulation on balconies or large-area waterproofing on roofs. During application, 2-3 coats should be applied, with each coat spaced half a day apart to ensure the film thickness.
- Sealant (Polyurethane Type): It has extremely strong adhesion and is suitable for repairing large cracks on roofs. After curing, it forms a high-strength elastic body that can resist structural deformation. However, attention should be paid to the construction environment temperature (preferably above 5°C).
III. Key Construction Considerations
- Base Layer Preparation: Before construction, thoroughly clean the cracks and surrounding areas to remove oil stains and dust. For deep cracks, first smooth them out with a leak stopper to ensure the base layer is dry and flat.
- Layered Construction: The waterproof adhesive should be applied in thin multiple layers, with each layer not exceeding 1mm in thickness. Wait half a day for the previous layer to fully cure before applying the next layer to avoid cracking caused by one-time thick application.
- Environmental Limitations: Avoid working in low temperatures (below 5°C) or rainy weather. Low temperatures will slow down the curing speed, while rainy weather may cause the material to be washed away before it cures, affecting the waterproofing effect.
By selecting the appropriate material combination or specialized adhesive based on the crack depth, urgency of leakage, and roof material, and strictly following construction specifications, the problem of water leakage on prefabricated panel house roofs can be effectively solved.
