Exterior Decoration of Prefabricated Panel Houses
The exterior decoration of prefabricated panel houses can adopt concrete decorative panel (colored concrete panel) technology or prefabricated renovation methods, while also paying attention to the construction specifications for water and electricity installations.

I. Concrete Decorative Panel (Colored Concrete Panel) Technology
This technology belongs to the category of prefabricated concrete exterior wall finishing techniques. It involves processing panels during the prefabrication stage using the "forward" and "reverse" striking methods, encompassing types such as colored terrazzo and artistic terrazzo. Its core advantage lies in the fact that no secondary finishing treatment is required after on-site assembly, significantly shortening the construction period and reducing construction pollution. Depending on the differences in curtain wall structures, it can be divided into two categories:
- Non-skeleton Curtain Wall: Suitable for heavy-duty curtain walls up to one or two stories high, the panels are directly fixed to the main building structure, relying on the panel's own strength and the design of connection nodes to ensure stability.
- Framework-type Curtain Wall: Utilizes thin, lightweight concrete strips (with a panel width of 1 meter) connected to a steel framework via channel steel bolts, forming an adjustable support system. It is suitable for high-rise buildings or complex facade designs.
II. Prefabricated Renovation Methods
Overall renovation is achieved by adding an "outer layer" to the exterior wall, with common materials including metal panels, ceramic thin panels, or composite insulation panels. These methods can simultaneously enhance the building's thermal insulation and waterproofing performance, with a short construction period and minimal interference with the original structure. During renovation, it is crucial to focus on checking the sealing of joints between prefabricated panels to avoid local stress concentration caused by the weight of the outer layer.
III. Key Specifications for Water and Electricity Construction
Prefabricated panels are hollow structures, and slot cutting during construction must strictly adhere to the following principles:
- Prohibition of Horizontal Slot Cutting: Horizontal cutting can damage the internal steel reinforcement framework of the prefabricated panel, reducing its structural load-bearing capacity and potentially causing cracks.
- Control of Slot Depth: The slot depth must not exceed 5 centimeters to avoid penetrating the hollow layer, which could expose internal pipelines or cause structural damage.
- Priority for Vertical Wiring: Cutting slots along the longitudinal direction of the prefabricated panel can minimize the impact on the structure and facilitate future maintenance.
IV. Material Selection and Construction Points
- Material Compatibility: Colored concrete panels should be coordinated with the architectural style, while framework-type curtain walls require verification of the steel framework's corrosion resistance. Prefabricated outer layers must meet fire resistance and wind pressure standards.
- Node Treatment: Joints between prefabricated panels, door and window openings, and other areas require enhanced waterproofing treatment, such as using weather-resistant sealants or adding drainage slopes.
- Load Verification: Before outer layer renovation, it is necessary to calculate the impact of the new load on the original structure and perform reinforcement design if necessary.
