Design Plans for Prefabricated Panel Houses

Admin September 19, 2026

Currently, there are no direct design plans available for prefabricated panel houses, but you can draw inspiration from the following design cases:

Case One: A 22㎡ Ultra-Small Residence in Yangpu District, Shanghai
This residence is a renovation project of an old building with a prefabricated panel structure, with the core design concept being maximizing space utilization through functional zoning optimization and circulation integration. The designer divided the 22㎡ space into six functional areas: the entrance area features an embedded shoe cabinet combined with a foldable shoe-changing bench to reduce space occupation; the kitchen area is equipped with a lift-up stove and a hidden range hood to meet cooking needs while keeping the countertop clean; the dining and living (bedroom) areas adopt an integrated design, enabling scene switching through a foldable dining table and a wall bed, serving as a living space during the day and converting into a sleeping area at night; the bathroom area adopts a dry-wet separation design, with the toilet compartment set up independently to improve usage efficiency. In addition, the entire house uses light-colored walls and mirror decorations to enhance the sense of spaciousness through visual extension.

Case Two: The 'Gomos System' Tubular Housing Units in Portugal
This case represents an innovative practice in prefabricated panel modular architecture, with the core design feature being standardized components and flexible combination methods. The project consists of six tubular units, each assembled from prefabricated concrete panels to form a cylindrical space with a diameter of approximately 3.6 meters. Inside each unit, functional areas are integrated through a circular layout: a small storage cabinet and shoe rack are placed at the entrance; the middle section serves as an open kitchen and dining area, equipped with a rotatable workbench; the end section is the sleeping area, featuring a platform bed design with embedded storage space. The units can be connected via corridors or patios to form diverse residential combinations. Additionally, the building's facade uses detachable solar panels, balancing energy utilization with aesthetic flexibility.

Design Recommendations:
If you need to design a prefabricated panel house independently, you can refer to the functional integration logic and modular thinking of the above cases. For example, in small apartments, prioritize planning multi-functional composite areas (such as integrated living, dining, and sleeping spaces) and use transformable furniture to enhance space utilization; for modular buildings, focus on component standardization and connection node design to ensure construction efficiency and structural stability. Meanwhile, adjust design details according to local climate conditions, such as increasing ventilation design in southern regions and strengthening insulation performance in northern regions.
