Prefabricated Interior Decoration for Houses

Admin September 19, 2026

Prefabricated interior decoration for houses, also known as prefabricated decoration, is a decoration method based on industrially produced components and parts, which are combined and installed on-site using dry construction methods. It offers advantages such as short construction periods and environmental protection.

I. Technical Characteristics Prefabricated decoration adopts standardized design, factory-based production, and modular construction modes. It achieves separation between the building structure and the decoration system through the principle of pipeline separation. The floor system utilizes elevated support technology, with a bearing capacity of up to 200kg/m². Its core advantages include:

  1. Efficiency Improvement: It shortens the construction period by 30%-50% compared to traditional decoration. For example, modules such as lightweight partition wall systems and integrated kitchens can be installed quickly.
  2. Environmental Protection: It reduces construction waste by over 80% and eliminates wet construction processes, thereby lowering dust and noise pollution.
  3. Technical System: It encompasses subsystems such as lightweight partition walls, integrated kitchens, overall bathrooms, and elevated floors. The components and parts can be disassembled and replaced, facilitating easy maintenance and upgrades in the future.

II. Policy Support The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of Prefabricated Decoration (Draft for Comments)" in 2026, proposing the formation of a comprehensive standard, technical, industrial, regulatory, and talent system by 2030. The key promotion areas include:

  1. Government-Invested Projects: Full adoption in affordable rental housing, talent apartments, etc., with encouragement for application in public buildings.
  2. Commercial Housing Pilots: Exploration of prefabricated decoration models in commercial housing projects.
  3. Existing Building Renovations: Support for the adoption of this technology in the renovation of urban old residential areas and the decoration of residents' old houses.

III. Local Standards The "Technical Specification for Prefabricated Interior Decoration in Residential Buildings" (DB21/T 2585 - 2024) issued by Liaoning Province regulates design, construction, acceptance, and other aspects. The main revisions include:

  1. Terminology and Basic Provisions: Addition of standardized design requirements and clarification of component integration design principles.
  2. Component Requirements: New sections detailing standards for material properties and connection nodes.
  3. Full-Process Control: Coverage of the entire lifecycle, including design, production, installation, acceptance, and use and maintenance, to ensure traceable quality.

Prefabricated decoration promotes the transformation of the decoration industry towards a green and efficient direction through the integration of industrialization and informatization, meeting the needs of sustainable development.
