Prefabricated House Panels
Prefabricated house panels typically refer to prefabricated slabs, which were commonly used as floor slabs in early 20th-century construction. They belong to the category of engineering modules or panels and are now less frequently used in housing construction due to certain drawbacks.

Manufacturing Process
Prefabricated house panels are concrete prefabricated components produced and processed in prefabrication yards. During manufacturing, a hollow mold is first made using wooden planks. After reinforcing steel bars are placed in the hollow part of the mold, cement is poured to fill the hollow section. Once the cement dries, the wooden planks are knocked away, resulting in a prefabricated slab.
Types and Characteristics
Prefabricated house panels come in both solid and hollow varieties, but regardless of the type, they all contain reinforcing steel bars. This structure gives the prefabricated slabs a certain degree of strength and load-bearing capacity. When constructing a house, the prefabricated slabs can be directly transported to the construction site and assembled using cranes. Compared to traditional construction methods, this approach offers faster construction speeds and significantly shortens the construction period.
Applications
Prefabricated house panels have a wide range of applications. For example, many of the cement slabs used to cover ditches beside highways or as insulation layers on rooftops are prefabricated slabs. In projects with low structural requirements and short construction periods, prefabricated slabs can leverage their advantage of rapid installation.
Existing Issues
However, prefabricated house panels also have some obvious drawbacks. Their earthquake resistance is relatively poor, and in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, they are prone to structural issues that can lead to house damage or even collapse. Additionally, after prolonged use, prefabricated slabs are prone to cracking, which affects the safety and service life of the house.
Market Prices
Currently, there is a wide range of prices for prefabricated floor slabs on the market. For example, the price of a hollow prefabricated concrete load-bearing floor slab, used in housing construction as a concrete prestressed cover slab with round holes, is approximately 36.0 yuan. The price of a reinforced concrete hollow slab for factory and residential building floor and roof prefabrication is approximately 24.0 yuan, among others. However, due to the various issues associated with prefabricated house panels, this construction method is now less frequently used in housing construction, with more emphasis placed on frame structures and reinforced concrete structures to improve building safety and quality.
