Application Scenarios of Prefabricated Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

The application scenarios of prefabricated houses mainly include urban renewal areas, overseas markets, and regions with moderate seismic fortification requirements.

In the field of urban renewal, prefabricated houses demonstrate significant advantages. Traditional construction methods often face issues such as long construction periods, high labor requirements, and numerous disturbances to residents in scenarios like the renovation of dilapidated buildings, the refurbishment of old residential areas, urban home improvement upgrades, and temporary supporting construction. In contrast, prefabricated houses, utilizing modular assembly technology, can significantly shorten construction periods. For example, in a social housing project in Shenzhen, Guangdong, five residential buildings nearly 100 meters high were assembled from 6,028 concrete modules, reducing the completion and delivery time from the traditional 2.5 to 3 years to just 1 year, and reducing on-site labor by approximately 50%. At the same time, disturbances such as noise, dust, construction waste, and traffic congestion at the construction site of prefabricated houses are also significantly reduced, aligning more closely with the environmental protection and efficiency requirements of urban renewal.

Overseas markets represent another important application area for prefabricated houses. Chinese-made prefabricated houses have quickly gained popularity overseas due to their superior quality and cost-effectiveness, becoming a new calling card for "Made in China" in international markets. Data shows that the export growth rate of prefabricated buildings reached 45% in the first quarter of 2026. Taking Guangzhou and Shenzhen as examples, in the first four months of 2026, enterprises in the Guangzhou Customs area exported movable houses worth 1.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.1%; the export value of movable houses from Shenzhen ports reached 1.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%. These figures fully demonstrate the broad development prospects of prefabricated houses in the international market.

In addition, prefabricated houses are also suitable for regions with moderate seismic fortification requirements. Panel-assembled buildings are generally suitable for multi-story residential buildings in areas with seismic fortification intensities of 8 degrees or below, and can also be constructed as high-rise buildings with more than 12 stories. This structural form not only meets seismic requirements but also enables rapid construction and efficient space utilization, providing residents with a safe and comfortable living environment.
