Prefabricated Container House
A prefabricated container house is a form of habitable or office building that uses containers as its basic structural modules and is modified accordingly. It is also known as a container house or a container mobile house.

Features and Applications
- Features: It is sturdy and durable, easy to construct, and offers advantages such as environmental friendliness, flexibility, and low cost. Continuous technological optimizations and research are being conducted in areas such as thermal insulation performance, energy supply systems, and intelligent management.
- Application Areas:
- Temporary Housing: Commonly used on construction sites as workers' dormitories, and some people also use them as rental housing.
- Creative Spaces: For example, Shanting District, Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province, China, has utilized container houses to create a characteristic homestay scenic spot.
- Post-Disaster Emergency Buildings: They play an important role in the construction of emergency medical facilities due to their rapid deployment capabilities. For instance, after a disaster occurs, temporary medical facilities can be quickly erected to support rescue efforts.
- Commercial Sector: Some brands have transformed them into innovative applications such as 24-hour self-service fitness pods. The 2026 Nagoya Asian Games in Japan will use container houses to form the Asian Games Village, reducing competition costs.
Construction Process
When constructing a prefabricated detachable container house, a series of operations are required. First, install the bottom frame by connecting the lower corner fittings and bottom sills, securing them with bolts, placing and connecting the purlins, measuring the diagonals to ensure perpendicularity, connecting the bottom cross members, connecting the columns to the bottom frame (leaving some play by not fully tightening the bolts), and laying MGO boards with gaps. Next, install the top structure, including connections between the upper corner fittings and top longitudinal beams, upper corner fittings and columns, and top transverse beams and upper corner fittings. Use a level to measure the perpendicularity of the columns and make supports and adjustments. Then, install the top purlins, reinforce the connections, embed the drainage channels, secure the drainage pipes and apply sealant, install the downspouts, and attach the sealing strips. After that, install the wall panels sequentially, noting that the positions and sizes of doors and windows can be changed. When installing the ceiling, choose the fixing method according to the situation. Finally, fix the wires on the inner wall of the house, lay glass wool, apply sealant, lay and secure the roof tiles, and handle the corners of the house.
Market Products
Various manufacturers produce products related to prefabricated container houses in the market. For example, Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. and CIMC Modular Building Systems Investment Co., Ltd. offer quick-assembly container house products. Many manufacturers such as Anhui Richuang Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Shugan Mobile House Co., Ltd. provide different types and prices of portable houses and container houses.
