Prefabricated Concrete Walls for Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

Common types of prefabricated concrete walls for houses include prefabricated concrete panel walls, prefabricated fences, and integral prefabricated concrete house walls, each with its own characteristics and application scenarios.

Prefabricated Concrete Panel Walls: These are primarily made of Portland cement and steel reinforcement frames, available in both solid and hollow types. Hollow prefabricated panels can reduce weight and cost. They are characterized by simple construction and low cost, and were widely used in brick-concrete structural buildings in the early days. The standard specifications have a maximum span of 4.2 meters, with widths commonly of 500mm or 600mm, and thicknesses mainly of 120mm and 150mm. However, they have issues such as poor thermal insulation, insufficient structural stability, weak load-bearing capacity, and the tendency for cracks and leaks at the joints between panels. As a result, they have been banned in the construction field, and current buildings generally use cast-in-place slabs instead of prefabricated panel walls.

Prefabricated Fences: These are produced in factories using materials such as cement, magnesium chloride, perlite, and sand, and are assembled on-site using components such as embedded parts, columns, and bottom beams. They have a compressive strength of 21.3~31.0Mpa and support various decorative styles such as antique, European, and cartoon styles. They are reusable, have a short construction period, and can be constructed in winter. Each wall panel is about 4.1m long and about 2.2m high. The wall panels come in two sizes: large panels are generally 3.6m long and about 6cm thick; small panels are 1.2m long and about 6cm thick. The columns are square prisms with a uniform specification and a side length of 50cm. Their advantages include low cost, reusability, aesthetic appearance, short construction period, high safety, environmental friendliness, resistance to climate conditions, and the ability to customize personalized products according to the requirements of construction units.

Integral Prefabricated Concrete House Walls: The factory pre-makes the walls and roofs into modules in advance and transports them to the construction site for assembly like building blocks. A 100-square-meter house can be assembled in one day, which is 90% faster than traditional house construction. A 100-square-meter house also saves 60,000 yuan compared to a brick-concrete structure and generates 90% less construction waste. They are suitable for temporary construction site houses and rural self-built houses. If used for long-term residence, it is recommended to install sound insulation cotton and thermal insulation boards and properly handle the roof joints for waterproofing.
