How Many Years Can a Prefab Panel House Last?
On construction sites we often see many simple buildings—prefab panel houses. Their key advantages are that they are green and environmentally friendly, quite affordable, and easy to assemble and dismantle. They are generally built as temporary housing for workers on site, and people are also quite concerned about how long they last.
Prefab panel houses are generally steel-structure buildings. Their service life is not one-size-fits-all; it depends directly on manufacturing craftsmanship and the installation and usage environment, and later maintenance also plays a key role. Ordinary prefab panel houses currently last only 4-5 years. With better materials plus later maintenance, 10-20 years is entirely feasible; a 50-year lifespan is very rare.
As for the service life of prefab panel houses, different materials have different lifespans. Although each material type has an average service life, reasonable use can effectively extend that life.
