Portable Toilets for Camping Sites

Portable toilets for camping sites mainly include two types of products: portable commodes and portable toilet tents, each with its own characteristics and usage precautions.

Portable Commodes

• Design Principle and Usage: Taking the Thetford portable commode as an example, its design principle is the same as that of commodes in RVs. When using it, first pour 100 milliliters of cleaning solution into the freshwater tank and then fill it with fresh water. Pour 150 milliliters of degrading solution and a little fresh water into the wastewater tank for normal use. It uses a push-button flushing method. After using the toilet, both solid and liquid waste are degraded in the black water tank without producing any odor.
• Post-use Disposal: After camping, you need to find a sewer or toilet to empty the wastewater and clean the tanks. This step is relatively cumbersome, and if not handled properly, it may have a certain impact on the environment.
• Size and Space Occupation: Portable commodes are not small in size and will take up a certain amount of space in the trunk. For campers with limited trunk space in their vehicles, they may need to weigh whether to carry one.

Portable Toilet Tents

• Functional Features: Portable toilet tents need to be stable, windproof, rainproof, provide sufficient privacy, and be easy to store. They should also serve multiple functions such as changing clothes, showering, and using the toilet, providing campers with a relatively private and comfortable space.
• Selection Points: When choosing a portable toilet tent, pay attention to several aspects. The material and connection method of the frame determine the stability and durability of the tent. Details that ensure privacy, such as zipper design and light-blocking properties, can protect the privacy of users. The drainage and ventilation design affects the air quality and drainage effect inside the tent. The portability of storage makes it convenient for tidying up and carrying after camping. The durability of the fabric is related to the service life of the tent.
