Portable Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

A portable toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides public toilet services, with advantages such as mobility, modularity, and ease of transportation.

I. Basic Components Portable toilets typically consist of core components such as fecal sewage storage tanks (or disposal units), floor slabs, sanitary fixtures, walls, washing facilities, water tanks, roofs, and mobile units. These components together form a complete toilet system, where the fecal sewage storage tank collects waste, sanitary fixtures (such as toilets or squat pans) provide usage interfaces, the water tank supplies water for flushing, and the mobile unit (such as wheels or lifting structures) supports overall relocation.

II. Classification Methods

  1. By structural form: They are divided into single-unit structures and composite structures. Single-unit structures are independent and complete units suitable for single scenarios; composite structures are composed of multiple modules and can expand functions according to needs (such as adding shower rooms or management rooms).
  2. By mobility method: They include lifting and handling types and powered towing types. The lifting type relies on lifting equipment for relocation and is suitable for short-distance movement between fixed points; the powered towing type is equipped with an engine or towing device, can operate autonomously or be towed by a vehicle, and is suitable for flexible deployment across regions.
  3. By sewage treatment method: They are classified into water-flush types, waterless suction types, recirculating water-flush types, and dry-pack types. The water-flush type relies on a water source for flushing and requires a配套 (matching) sewage storage tank; the waterless type treats waste through chemical agents or vacuum suction; the recirculating water-flush type utilizes filtration technology to purify sewage for reuse; the dry-pack type directly collects waste in biodegradable bags, requiring no water source and offering high environmental friendliness.

III. Core Advantages The greatest feature of portable toilets is their mobility, enabling rapid deployment to temporary event sites, disaster relief areas, or remote construction sites where fixed public toilets are unavailable. Their modular design supports functional expansion, such as adding shower rooms, air conditioners, or intelligent management systems to meet high-end needs. Additionally, their reusability significantly reduces long-term construction costs and aligns with environmental protection concepts.

IV. Price Range Prices vary greatly depending on the type and configuration: Basic models (such as simple construction site toilets) cost around 1235 yuan; high-end scenic area toilets with shower rooms cost about 450 yuan; vehicle-mounted trailer-type portable restrooms, which integrate power and transportation functions, can cost up to 4275 yuan. When purchasing, it is necessary to comprehensively evaluate based on the usage scenario, frequency, and budget.
