Portable Toilet Schematic Diagram

Admin October 19, 2026

There is no publicly available standard unified schematic diagram for portable toilets, but the working principles of different types of portable toilets are as follows:

Sewage-storage Portable Toilets: Their core components include a toilet bowl, a sewage storage tank, and a ventilation system. The toilet bowl serves as the passage for waste. When a user uses the toilet, the waste directly falls into the sewage storage tank. Degrading agents or deodorants are usually pre-placed in the sewage storage tank. These substances can decompose the organic matter in the waste, reduce odor generation, and inhibit bacterial growth. The ventilation system is crucial for maintaining air quality inside the toilet. It can achieve air circulation through natural airflow or small fans. Natural airflow utilizes the air pressure difference between the inside and outside of the toilet to allow air to flow in and out naturally. Small fans can actively promote air circulation, preventing the toilet from becoming stuffy and accumulating odors, thus providing a relatively comfortable environment for users.

Some Portable Restrooms in Beijing: The core equipment is a solid-liquid separation device. After waste enters the collection tank, the device separates the liquid (urine and flushing water) from the solid (feces and toilet paper) through centrifugal force or a filtering medium. The liquid part enters a multi-layer biofilm reactor, where, using the microbial metabolism principle in the activated sludge process, the organic matter in the liquid is decomposed into carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen. The treated water meets the standard and can be reused for flushing. The solid part is sent to a dehydration bin with a heating device. Through low-temperature pyrolysis, the moisture evaporates, and the residue turns into dry particles with a significantly reduced volume. Some portable restrooms have flexible photovoltaic films installed on their roofs. The direct current generated is first supplied to the equipment itself. When the power is insufficient,沼气 fermentation (biogas fermentation) is used to generate electricity from the solid particles. In terms of odor control, a liquid-sealed valve is installed below the waste collection device, and a photocatalytic oxidation module is set up in the exhaust duct to effectively remove odors.

New Generation Portable Restrooms: They generally integrate a closed-loop water treatment system, adopting three-stage filtration and ultraviolet disinfection technology, enabling a single water storage to support the use of two hundred people. Solid waste is collected by vacuum into a sealed tank. After adding microbial degrading agents, its volume can be reduced by seventy percent. The energy supply adopts a hybrid power supply scheme of photovoltaic films and micro wind turbines. Backup lithium battery packs can ensure normal operation during continuous rainy days.
