Portable Toilet Mobile Restroom

Admin September 27, 2026

A portable toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides toilet services to the public. It has the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport.

Composition Structure

A portable toilet generally consists of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), floor slab, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tank, roof, moving device, etc. These components work together to ensure the basic functions of the toilet are realized, such as storing fecal sewage, providing toilet space, and ensuring sanitary conditions.

Classification by Structural Form

  • Single-unit Structure Portable Toilet: It has a relatively simple structure and is usually an independent unit, suitable for places with limited space or a small demand for the number of toilets.
  • Composite Structure Portable Toilet: It is composed of multiple parts and can be flexibly combined and expanded according to actual needs, meeting the demand for a relatively large number of toilets.

Classification by Moving Method

  • Hoisting and Handling Portable Toilet: It mainly relies on equipment such as cranes for hoisting and handling, suitable for places that require frequent movement and have a short moving distance.
  • Powered and Trailer-mounted Portable Toilet: It has its own power device or can be moved by being towed by a vehicle, making movement more flexible and convenient, and it can be transported over long distances to different locations.

Classification by Sewage Treatment Method

  • Water-flush and Non-water-flush Suction Portable Toilet: The water-flush type flushes feces with water flow, while the non-water-flush suction type uses suction equipment to remove feces. They are suitable for places with a water source or high sanitary requirements.
  • Recirculating Water-flush Portable Toilet: It treats the used water and then recirculates it for use, saving water resources and suitable for areas with relatively scarce water resources.
  • Dry-packing Portable Toilet: It packs feces with biodegradable packaging bags, requiring no water, and is convenient for cleaning and transportation, suitable for places without a water source or with high environmental protection requirements.

In addition, some people also make portable toilets using materials such as buckets, water storage tanks, and pallets by installing universal wheels, cutting openings, and installing sanitary ware.
