However, these tent-style portable toilets usually lack automated facilities such as flushing, requiring users to prepare cleaning supplies and garbage bags themselves, resulting in a relatively basic user experience.

Portable Commode-Style Portable Toilets: Taking the Thetford portable commode as an example, its design principle is the same as that of commodes in RVs. Before use, pour 100 milliliters of cleaning solution into the freshwater tank and then fill it with water; pour 150 milliliters of deodorizing solution and some water into the wastewater tank. It uses a push-button flushing method. After using the toilet for both solid and liquid waste, the waste is degraded in the black water tank without producing odors. The advantages of this commode are its ease of use, high level of hygiene, and ability to provide a relatively comfortable toilet experience. However, it also has some drawbacks. On one hand, after camping, you need to find a sewer or toilet to empty the wastewater, and then clean the tank with fresh water, which is relatively cumbersome. On the other hand, this commode is not small in size and takes up a certain amount of trunk space, which may not be ideal for campers with limited vehicle space.

Products from different manufacturers may differ in functionality and materials. Campers can make comprehensive considerations based on their actual needs, budget, and camping scenarios when choosing.
