Portable Compact Bathroom Toilet
A portable compact bathroom toilet, also known as a mobile toilet, is a fully movable facility designed to meet sanitation needs in temporary or fixed locations.

I. Basic Components
Mobile toilets typically consist of core components such as fecal wastewater storage tanks (or disposal units), flooring, sanitary fixtures, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobility devices. Their structural forms fall into two categories: monolithic structures (independent unit designs for rapid deployment) and composite structures (modular combinations allowing for expandable functional areas). Mobility methods include hoisting/handling types (relying on mechanical handling) and powered/trailer types (equipped with engines or towing devices for autonomous movement), catering to transportation needs in various scenarios.
II. Wastewater Treatment Technologies
Based on treatment methods, mobile toilets can be classified into four major types:
- Flush and Non-flush Suction Types: These collect feces into storage tanks through flushing or vacuum suction, with regular removal by specialized vehicles. They are suitable for areas with water sources and well-established sewage disposal conditions.
- Recirculating Flush Types: These employ biodegradation or chemical treatment technologies to purify wastewater, enabling water recycling and reducing water consumption. They are ideal for water-scarce environments.
- Dry Packaging Types: These use biodegradable film bags to encapsulate feces without water usage. The packaged waste is then collected and treated centrally, commonly used in wilderness or temporary event venues lacking sewage facilities.
III. DIY Mobile Toilet Cases
Folk innovations achieve functional designs using simple materials:
- Bucket Modification Type: A wooden base is fitted with universal wheels, and a cut bucket serves as the fecal storage container. Wooden strips are used for fixation and height extension to create space, equipped with drainage pipes, floor drains, and a simple toilet seat. Finally, a wooden door is installed to complete the enclosed structure.
- Water Tank Modification Type: Wheels are fixed to the bottom of a trailer plate, and two cut-open water tanks are stacked to serve as the toilet and washing areas, respectively. Inlet pipes, shower hoses, and sprinklers are connected to achieve integrated washing and toilet functions.
While these designs are cost-effective, attention must be paid to sealing, stability, and hygiene conditions. They are recommended only as temporary solutions, with professional equipment required for long-term use to ensure health and environmental protection standards.
