Production Method of Plastic Portable Toilet
Admin October 09, 2026
The production method of plastic portable toilets can be selected as simple or partially modified according to needs. Here are the detailed steps for two typical cases:

Case 1: Simple Portable Toilet Based on a Large Plastic Bucket (Full Function Type)
Structural Reinforcement and Mobility Design
- Select a corrosion-resistant large plastic bucket (e.g., a 200L chemical bucket), cut horizontally at one-third of the bucket's height, and retain the bottom as the main structure.
- Install universal wheels (with brake function) at the four corners of the bucket bottom to ensure mobility stability; nail horizontal wooden strips (with a spacing of about 10cm) on the outside of the bucket to increase height, and cut two vertical slits as the foundation for the door frame.
- Key Points: The wooden strips should be treated with anti-corrosion paint, and the width of the slits should match the door frame (usually 3-5cm).
Door and Privacy Treatment
- Fix the edge of the door frame with synthetic wooden boards (e.g., PVC boards), and embed galvanized iron sheets (0.5mm thick) between the raised wooden strips. Coat the iron sheets with epoxy resin anti-corrosion paint.
- Cover the top with the cut-off top part of the plastic bucket (pre-drill holes for ventilation), make a wooden door, and install stainless steel hinges to ensure smooth opening and closing and good sealing.
Drainage and Water Storage System
- Drill a hole (5cm in diameter) at the center of the bucket bottom, install a PVC drain pipe (with a sealing ring), and connect it to an external septic tank (which can be replaced by a sealed plastic box).
- Modify another small plastic bucket as a water storage bucket: drill a hole at the bottom to install a water pipe joint, connect it to a homemade showerhead (drill holes and then heat and bend into shape) through a PVC pipe, and use a three-way valve to control water flow distribution (for bathing, toilet flushing, and sink).
Toilet Installation
- Fix a toilet (a small children's toilet can be selected) at the center of the bucket bottom, connect it to the septic tank with a PVC pipe, and fill the gaps with epoxy resin glue to prevent leakage.
Case 2: Wall-mounted Urinal (Partially Modified Type)
Cutting and Polishing
- Select a medium-sized plastic bucket (e.g., a 50L bucket), mark a trapezoidal line (top base 10cm, bottom base 15cm, height 20cm) in the outlet area, cut out a urinal opening with an angle grinder, and polish the edges with sandpaper until smooth to prevent cuts.
Flushing System
- Seal one end of a water pipe (2cm in diameter), connect the other end to a reducing joint (3cm in diameter) to form a funnel structure, fill it with fine sand, heat it until softened, bend it into an arc shape, and drill a hole (5mm in diameter) as a flushing valve.
- Connect the arc-shaped water pipe through a three-way joint and fix it to the inner wall of the urinal (15cm above the bottom of the urinal) to ensure that the water flow covers the entire wall of the urinal.
Installation and Drainage
- Fix the outlet joint with the outlet with AB glue, paint the surface of the urinal with white waterproof paint for beautification, and fix it under the sink with screws (pre-drill installation holes).
- Connect a drain pipe (3cm in diameter) to the sewer, ensuring a slope of ≥5% for easy drainage.
Precautions:
- For Case 1, focus on treating the sewage discharge sealing (e.g., the size of the drain hole should match the pipe), and for Case 2, optimize space utilization (e.g., the height of the urinal should be suitable for children).
- In actual production, adjust parameters according to the material size and test the sealing (e.g., observe for 24 hours for no leakage after filling the water storage bucket with water).
