Placement of Mobile Toilets

Admin September 20, 2026

The placement of mobile toilets refers to the installation of portable toilet facilities at locations with fixed or temporary needs to provide restroom services to the public and customers. The following provides a detailed introduction from the aspects of applicable locations, composition and structure, classification methods, and design principles.

Applicable Locations: Mobile toilets are suitable for a variety of locations, including train stations, docks, tourist attractions, newly built residential areas, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets. For example, during college entrance exams, mobile toilets are installed outside examination venues for the convenience of examinees and their parents. These toilets are typically installed a few days before the exams and removed after the exams are over. In 2023, mobile toilets were also gradually installed and put into use in the scenic areas along the Yellow River in Lanzhou.

Composition and Structure: Mobile toilets generally consist of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), flooring, sanitary fixtures, walls, washing facilities, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. These components work together to ensure that the mobile toilet can provide normal restroom services and facilitate easy movement and installation.

Classification Methods:

  • By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure mobile toilets are relatively simple and suitable for small-scale use; composite-structure mobile toilets are more complex and have more comprehensive functions, suitable for large-scale or long-term use.
  • By mobility method: They can be divided into lifting and handling mobile toilets, and powered and towed mobile toilets. Lifting and handling mobile toilets require external equipment for movement; powered and towed mobile toilets have their own mobility capabilities, making them more flexible and convenient.
  • By sewage treatment method: They can be divided into water-flush and non-water-flush suction mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets. Different types of mobile toilets have different sewage treatment methods to adapt to different usage environments and needs.

Design Principles: The design of mobile toilets should adhere to the principles of mobility and convenience, economic durability; environmental protection and ecological friendliness, beneficial to the environment; improving efficiency and promoting humanity. The overall structure should consider lightness, using lightweight and durable materials as much as possible, and the structure should be sturdy. The design should also consider controlling the height and width of the toilet, and the mobile device should be fully considered for completeness and rationality to ensure that the mobile toilet can be easily moved and installed and meet usage needs.
