Park Solar-Powered Mobile Toilet
A park solar-powered mobile toilet is a mobile public toilet that utilizes solar energy resources to achieve environmental protection and energy conservation.

Working Principles and Common Forms
There are two common forms of park solar-powered mobile toilets. One involves adding thermal insulation materials to the exterior walls of the building and making the sun-facing side into a heat-collecting wall. It uses the principle of hot air circulation to raise the temperature inside the toilet in winter and prevent water pipes from freezing and cracking. The other involves installing solar photovoltaic power generation equipment on the roof of the public toilet. It relies on solar power generation to provide electricity for the lighting, air conditioners, dryers, and other equipment inside the public toilet, achieving energy conservation and emission reduction. For example, a certain public toilet is equipped with a 7KW solar photovoltaic system, which can generate 6.5 degrees of electricity per hour and can be used for 3 days after a single charge.
Advantages and Characteristics
- Solving the power connection problem: Traditional mobile public toilets face difficulties in power connection and high costs for wiring. In scenarios such as scenic spots, the cost of connecting to the mains power can be comparable to the cost of the equipment itself. However, solar-powered mobile toilets break this physical bottleneck. For instance, in a project at a national wetland park in northwest China, 56 off-grid solar-powered public toilets have been operating continuously and stably for over 800 days without any mains power connection.
- Low economic cost: Although the cost of a single solar-powered public toilet is approximately 30% higher than that of an ordinary mobile toilet, it has an advantage when considering the cost over its entire life cycle. Taking an 8-stall solar-powered mobile toilet implemented by Xingrui Environmental Protection in a logistics park in Shandong as an example, the initial construction cost is 186,000 yuan (including the photovoltaic and energy storage systems). The annual operation and maintenance electricity cost is 0 yuan (compared to about 8,000 yuan for a traditional toilet), and the annual savings on water costs and consumables are about 3,200 yuan (using waterless or micro-water technology). The equipment has a service life of 12 - 15 years (compared to 7 - 8 years for a traditional toilet). Comprehensive calculations show that the total cost can be balanced within the first 5 years, and then a net savings of about 10,000 yuan per year can be achieved. If local government subsidies for green buildings (usually 15% - 20% of the total investment) are taken into account, the payback period is further shortened to 3 - 4 years.
Market Types and Prices
There are various types of park solar-powered mobile toilets available on the market, such as factory-trailer-type mobile toilets, steel-structure scenic-spot outdoor construction-site solar-powered eco-friendly public toilets, solar-powered PVC moisture-proof toilet booths for basements and temporary public toilets, and factory-wholesale outdoor luxury customized solar-powered automatic-fan mobile toilet shower rooms. Prices vary depending on factors such as brand and configuration, ranging from several hundred yuan to tens of thousands of yuan.
