Moving the Cat's Litter Box
Moving the cat's litter box should be done gradually. You can move it 1cm per day until it reaches the destination, or you can remove the old litter box, apply essential balm, and guide the cat to the new location. Here are the specific instructions:

Moving 1cm per day
Cats are quite sensitive to environmental changes. Suddenly moving the litter box may confuse the cat, causing it to refuse to use the new location and even lead to issues like urinating or defecating anywhere. Moving it 1cm per day is a gentle approach that allows the cat to gradually adapt to the change in the litter box's position. During this process, the cat only needs to get used to a small distance change each day and won't experience significant stress. For example, if you want to move the litter box from one end of the living room to the other, with a distance of 1 meter, it will take about 100 days to complete the entire move at a rate of 1cm per day. Although it takes a long time, it can minimize the impact on the cat and ensure that the cat can continue to use the litter box normally.
Removing the old box, applying essential balm, and guiding to the new location
- Removing the old litter box: Take away the original litter box to eliminate the cat's dependence on the old location. Since cats are used to defecating in a fixed place, the presence of the old litter box will make it continue to choose that spot.
- Applying essential balm: Apply essential balm at the location of the original litter box. Essential balm has a strong odor, and cats have a very sensitive sense of smell. This pungent smell will make the cat unwilling to stay and defecate at that location, prompting it to look for a new place to relieve itself.
- Guiding to the new location: Place a small box filled with cat litter at the new toilet location, such as a corner of the bathroom, as the new litter box. You can put some items with the cat's familiar scent, like the cat litter it has used before, in the new litter box to attract the cat to the new location. At the same time, when the cat defecates in the new litter box, give it appropriate rewards, such as snacks or gentle strokes, to reinforce its behavior of defecating at that location.
