Mobile Toilet Without Water and Electricity

Admin October 11, 2026

Mobile toilets can be used in scenarios without water and electricity through three technical solutions: waterless flushing ecological toilets, mechanically packaged mobile toilets, and dry toilet structures. The specific technical principles and application scenarios are as follows:

1. Waterless flushing ecological toilets
This solution employs a microcomputer control system and composite microbial degradation technology. Solid feces are catalytically decomposed by biological enzymes into harmless gases such as carbon dioxide and water vapor, with a degradation rate of up to 97%. After separation, urine is treated by microorganisms to meet the standards for reclaimed water, enabling recycling without the need for external water supply and drainage pipes. Its core advantage lies in its completely waterless process, and it maintains internal environmental stability through an intelligent control system, making it suitable for long-term deployment in scenic spots, campsites, etc. For example, some ecological toilets are equipped with solar panels for power supply, further reducing reliance on external energy sources.

2. Mechanically packaged mobile toilets
Excrement is directly processed by a mechanical packaging device, sealed and packaged using biodegradable plastic bags or biological membranes, without the need for water flushing or chemical treatment. This solution requires no water or electricity support, can be used immediately upon installation, and the packaged excrement can be transported and treated collectively to avoid secondary pollution. A typical case is the Zhangye customized 3+1 mechanically packaged toilet, whose exterior wall is made of high-strength fiberglass-reinforced plastic, featuring wind and sand resistance and corrosion resistance. Its overall design is completely independent of water, electricity, and sewage systems, making it suitable for areas with scarce infrastructure such as grasslands and deserts.

3. Dry toilet structures
It adopts a fiberglass-reinforced plastic dry toilet squatting pan design, meeting basic sanitation needs through physical isolation. Excrement directly falls into the fecal storage tank below and is regularly cleaned manually or accelerated in decomposition using biological degradants. This solution is simple in structure and low in cost, but attention should be paid to odor and fly control measures. It is suitable for short-term activities or low-frequency use scenarios such as temporary construction sites and rural markets. Its limitation lies in its dependence on post-maintenance for sanitary conditions and its inability to achieve resource utilization.

Solution selection recommendations:

  • For long-term high-frequency use scenarios (such as scenic spots), waterless flushing ecological toilets are preferred, balancing environmental protection and user experience;
  • For areas without infrastructure (such as deserts), mechanically packaged toilets are recommended to ensure rapid deployment and low maintenance costs;
  • For short-term low-frequency needs (such as temporary activities), dry toilet structures can be used to balance economy and functionality.
