Mobile Toilet with Water Storage Tank

Admin October 06, 2026

A mobile toilet equipped with a water storage tank is a common and important configuration, primarily used for storing flushing water, with some models also featuring rainwater collection and treatment functions to supplement the water supply.

Basic Functions and Components of the Water Storage Tank

The water storage tank in a mobile toilet is one of the core components of the flushing system, with its primary function being to store clean water and provide a stable water source for flushing. In mobile toilets that rely on tank water supply, the storage tank is connected to sanitary fixtures (such as toilets or squat pans) via pipes. When the user triggers the flushing device (such as infrared sensors or manual buttons), water from the tank flows into the toilet to complete the flushing. Additionally, the capacity design of the water storage tank needs to match the frequency of toilet use. For example, mobile toilets in public places are usually equipped with larger-capacity tanks (such as 200-500 liters) to meet high-frequency usage demands, while toilets for household or temporary use may choose smaller capacities (such as 50-100 liters) to save space.

Water Replenishment Methods for the Water Storage Tank

There are two main ways to replenish the water in a mobile toilet's storage tank:

  1. Manual Water Replenishment: Directly inject water into the storage tank from an external water source (such as tap water or bottled water), suitable for scenarios with a stable water supply.
  2. Rainwater Collection System: Some high-end models incorporate rainwater collection devices that channel precipitation into the storage tank through roof gutters. After ultraviolet disinfection treatment, the rainwater can be used as a backup flushing water source, which is both environmentally friendly and reduces reliance on municipal water supplies. For example, in arid or remote areas, the rainwater collection function can significantly extend the autonomous operation time of mobile toilets.

Synergy Between the Water Storage Tank and Independent Power Supply System

The independent power supply system of a mobile toilet (such as solar photovoltaic panels and battery packs) provides power support for equipment related to the water storage tank. For example, ultraviolet disinfection devices require electricity to kill bacteria in the rainwater and ensure water quality safety; infrared-sensing flush valves rely on electricity for automatic triggering, enhancing user convenience. This synergistic design enables mobile toilets to operate normally in scenarios without external power sources while optimizing water resource utilization efficiency.

Maintenance Points for the Water Storage Tank

To ensure the proper functioning of the water storage tank, it is necessary to regularly clean the inside of the tank to prevent scale or impurities from clogging the pipes; check the tank's sealing to avoid water leakage and waste of water resources; in cold regions, take anti-freezing measures (such as adding insulation layers or emptying the tank) to prevent the tank from cracking due to freezing. Additionally, for toilets with rainwater collection systems, regularly clean the roof gutters to ensure smooth water flow into the storage tank.
