Mobile Toilet Water Source

Admin September 20, 2026

The water sources for mobile toilets vary depending on their type and design, primarily falling into two categories: internal recycling and external water supply.

Beijing mobile restrooms utilize an advanced internal recycling system to treat water. The working principle involves biologically degrading and filtering the liquid portion of waste through a multi-layer biofilm reactor. After treatment by the multi-layer biofilm reactor, the water quality meets the standards of the 'Urban Sewage Reuse - Urban Miscellaneous Water Quality' standard. This treated water is then reused for the next toilet flush, achieving water resource recycling. This not only conserves water resources but also reduces reliance on external water supply systems, making it suitable for places with high water efficiency requirements and corresponding technical conditions.

General portable toilets have more diverse water supply systems. In areas with tap water supply, their water supply systems mainly include tap water supply, water storage, and water supply pipelines. Tap water enters the toilet through a water source connection and then flows into the water supply pipeline system, which delivers the water to sinks, toilets, and other fixtures to meet daily usage needs. For special locations, such as construction sites, where stable tap water supply may be lacking, the water supply system typically adopts external water supply via water tank trucks. Water tank trucks transport water to the vicinity of the mobile toilet and inject it into the toilet's water storage device through specific connections, providing a water source for normal toilet use.

Scenic area mobile toilets offer two common solutions based on the infrastructure conditions of the scenic area. One is a water-flushing system, which requires connection to external water supply and sewage pipelines. The external water supply pipeline provides clean water for toilet flushing, while the sewage pipeline discharges used wastewater to designated sewage treatment facilities for processing. The other type is a packing or microbial degradation system, which relies on sealed collection containers or biological bacteria to decompose waste and does not require connection to an external water source. This type is suitable for mountainous scenic areas with scarce water resources and no pipeline coverage, effectively solving the water usage challenges for mobile toilets in these regions.
