Waste Collection for Mobile Toilets

Admin September 29, 2026

The waste collection methods for mobile toilets mainly include collection by professional operation and maintenance teams, classified collection at construction sites, and targeted collection based on different sewage discharge methods, as detailed below:

I. Unified Collection by Professional Operation and Maintenance Teams

Before mobile toilets overflow, professional operation and maintenance teams complete waste collection through two methods:

  1. Vacuum Suction Truck Operation: Suction trucks equipped with sealed waste storage tanks use negative pressure principles to suck waste into the tank, ensuring no leakage during transportation. According to the 'Regulations on Urban Environmental Sanitation Management in Jiangxi Province', transportation vehicles must hold a 'City Life Garbage Operational Cleaning, Collection, and Transportation Service License' and strictly follow designated routes to avoid secondary pollution.
  2. Manual Cleaning Assistance: For scenarios where suction trucks cannot be used (such as areas with complex terrain), operation and maintenance personnel adopt manual cleaning methods, transferring waste to dedicated sealed containers for transportation. This method requires strict adherence to hygiene protection standards to prevent waste spillage or personnel exposure to contamination.

II. Classified Collection of Mobile Toilets at Construction Sites

At construction sites, waste is divided into two categories—sewage and solid waste—requiring targeted treatment:

  1. Sewage Collection: When using toilets with filtration devices, avoid disposing of solid foreign objects such as cigarette butts and stones to prevent clogging the drainage system. Sewage flows through drainage pipes into collection tanks or septic tanks. Some construction sites use sedimentation tanks for preliminary treatment to reduce subsequent processing difficulty.
  2. Solid Waste Collection: Collection buckets need to be cleaned every 5-7 days (frequency adjusted according to usage volume), with the leasing party contacting professional sanitation companies for removal. If the construction site is equipped with its own small removal vehicles, it must obtain a muck transportation permit in advance to ensure compliant transportation.

III. Targeted Collection Based on Different Sewage Discharge Methods

Depending on the type of toilet, waste collection methods are further subdivided:

  1. Water-Flush Direct Discharge System: Flushing is done through a water tank or external water source, with sewage directly discharged into a collection tank or septic tank below. This method requires regular cleaning of the collection tank to prevent sewage overflow and is suitable for scenarios with a stable water supply.
  2. Waterless Packaging System: Utilizes biodegradable plastic bags and mechanical devices to automatically package feces without flushing. Waste is sealed inside the bags and then collected centrally, suitable for areas with water scarcity or high environmental protection requirements. However, plastic bags need to be replaced regularly and the discarded bags properly disposed of.
  3. Eco-Friendly System: Through microbial degradation or dry-wet separation technology, feces are converted into organic fertilizer or undergo harmless treatment. For example, microbial decomposition reduces waste volume and kills pathogens, while dry-wet separation separates liquids and solids for separate treatment and resource utilization.
